Trigger The Bloodshed - The Great Depression Holy crapsticks! Don't be surprised if your face feels like its been melted off by the time you are done with this record because without a doubt this is the heaviest record Trigger The Bloodshed have ever made. For those of you not familiar with these death metal underdogs, Trigger The Bloodshed, originally from the south west, were formed in 2006 and ever since stepping onto the scene have never put a foot wrong. Impressing the likes of Narcosis and Soulfly and as a result taking the stage with them, it isn't really surprising that as their second album release The Great Depression is something like nothing you have ever heard before. If you like a good chug, then this should overwhelm your chugging needs, if you are partial to a little relentless blisteringly paced drumming then this should whet your appetite nicely and if you generally like to sample the delights of death metal once in a while then this should suit you down to the ground. There are no proper words to describe how choking, spleen busting and generally mesmerising this album is, however it could be compared to putting Canibal Corpse, Napalm Death and Dying Fetus in a large mosh pit sized mixing bowl for a few hours, leaving the flavours to ferment and infuse and then unleashing it on unaware innocent taste buds. Already well renowned for their live performances, The Great Depression is most definitely the icing on the cake for Trigger The Bloodshed. 10/10
