What you will read here is a summary of what exactly happened to a man named Gopi Krsna, back in the Thirties in India, and is related in its entirety in his book "Kundalini, Evolutionary Energy In Man", by Gopi Krsna. This guy was no instructed yogin, and just as we go to chruch over here as a tradition, he had a little meditation program that he practiced every day, for a few minutes at a time. His practice was to go upstairs in his meditation room, and visualize a glowing lotus flower over his head. He had been doing this daily for thirteen years when the following incident occurred. "One day I was sitting and concentrating on the lotus as usual, when the very "unusual" happened. As I focused on the lotus for some strange reason I gained a very sharp concentrative focus on it, seeing it exceptionally clear and real. When this happened, I felt something stir at the base of my spine, down where my behind sat on the floor. When my attention went to that area, the sensation ceased, as did my focus on the lotus. Now back on the lotus, the clarity of concentration resumed, as did the sensation in my extreme lower back. Again I lost the sensation when my attention went to that area, thinking it so strange to be occurring as it had never happened before. Gaining a resolve to not get distracted this time, his lotus visualization resumed. As the lotus became very lucid in his minds eye, sure enough the sensation at his seat returned, but this time he stayed focused on the lotus. As he did so, a current of "liquid light"(his words, not mine) began entering his brain through his spinal chord, with a roar like that of a water fall. His body began to tremble as he felt his sense of self consciousness begin to shift out of his body, in a state of exhaltation and happiness impossible to describe. He became a "consciousness field" that continued to move out way from his body, while his body awareness diminished and became only a point, while he instead was this vast circle of all pervading consciousness, filling all spatial realty around him, filled with an ectastic pleasure beyond words. In simple terms he moved into and experienced as a conscious experiential state, Sat-Cit-Ananda, the immanance of the "divine Mind", my words, not his. After thirty minutes or so, the energy that had entered his brain began to retract back down his spine, and he eventually moved back into his original state. Now I can whole heartedly assure any of you trippers, doubters, religionists, cognitive modelers, new agers, whatever, that what this guy experienced is real, can be available to any of us, and is the real state of human consciousness, because I too have experienced what is described above and more, and basically move through them daily in a more or less heavenly waking state. All it takes is a daily practice of about an hour an fifteen minutes, after the kundalini has been brought to frutition through your previous yoga practice of about fivre years daily. You don't need acid, weed or anything any more, and I've done enough of all that stuff to kill most of you. Believe what you want of any of this, all you have to lose by believing is your dream of ego self, life and death. Swami Satyananda says when you awaken the Kundalini:"When you succeed in awakening the Kundalini Sakti, you stand on the threshold of eternity.Upon arising from Her slumber, the Kundalini is the vehicle for the expansion of consciousness, enabling the individual to fully develop his enate spiritual potential and rise beyond the mundane realm of life and death, to the level of divinity. Continuing he says, "Kundalini represents the underlying unity of all creation, it is the medium of all existence, and the final fufillment of truth. The Kundalini is the hidden key to the realization of ones divine nature. When the Kundalini is indeed awakened, the yogic aspirant then travels on the path of involution, riding Her divine being as consciousness, until he enters Sahasrara Cakra, thus achieving perfection in Yoga. The Yogin is thus freed from the bonds of life and death, gaining immortality. The wheel of Karma ceases for him, as the ego and its blinding ignorance are long dissolved and replaced with knowledge. For him, the world stops, creation dissolves, and he experiences and lives in the Ananda of pure consciousness, Samadhi". Don't dare think this is a bunch of hodge podge, I live these words. You can too fellow hippies. Peace, Love, and Flowers.
Well, how do you stop kundalini? I think I'm experiencing an awakening, but I don't want to yet. The back of my head feels tingling and I feel like I'm wrapped in a warm blanket. My third eye and crown keep opening up, too. I thought it was cool at first, but I'm a little worried as my consciousness has expanded greatly and I don't know if I'm prepared for it. Also, I feel kind of sick, but not the usual kind. I.E., not a cold or flu or anything like that. I think this is a result of kundalini.
Namaste Brother, why do you think that you don't want to experience the Devi? Fear is an ego karma that is intrinsic to the lower cakras, muladhara specifically. There is nothing to be afraid of. Physical sickness weird physical feelings is manipura. You see dude, the ego, that thing you think is you, is the sickness. This "dream in the mind of God" deal that I have identified as coming from the kundalini when She is dormant, is actually a bad dream. All is God, and the proccess of the ego experience of what we call living and being a person is in actuality an anomoly. Once you get to the consciousnes experience of the higher cakras with the awakened Devi taking you there you realize this most clearly and empatically. But, if you want to slow down what ever you feel you are undergoing, first of all, stop dealing with the upper cakras. Leave your third eye, "the ajna", and your crown cakra, the Sahasrara", alone. By any mental focusing on them you are telling the Devi, "go here'. Instead, do the trataka exercise on the dot I have listed on this forum, with some "om"chanting as you do it. You should have my book by now, trataka is listed in there everywhere. What you want to do to manage your prana, your prana is your self. So you want to get onepointed. Begin your practice by first taking your attention to your heart, and realize everything is God and is totally under control, as the oneness of His being as Siva. Then as you sit pick a dot as big as a pencil point and stay focused on it. Take a deep breath and chant a pretty loud "omm" while staying firmly visually focused on the dot. Do about 11 omms, thats all. Continue to focus on the dot for another two or three minutes, then end the event. The whole thing should not take ten minutes. Then, if you can, find a wooded glade or back yard, or park, where there is sone natural surroundings, Go and hang out there, and just relax your mind and person. Take some deep breaths and try to get a sense of nature as the Mother, She loves you and does not want to hurt you, You are Her vehicle. If you are doing an involved program, stop. Do the trataka w/om only. Get a mala of beads and chant on and off through the day, "Om Namah Sivaya" It is imperative that you get the mindset that the Kundalini is God within you. Do not fear Her, this is a stupid view as well as medieval. She is your best friend. It will alll be ok, know for sure that if the Devi is becoming active in you, you are indeed on the way to experiencing God. But, He can wait for you to catch up, and will. Namaste, Yogin Bhairava Amabhoda Sarasvati
To Dreamofthereis, I also assume that you are not taking any kind of drugs, they tend to inflame the Devi, really the prana She is. Now know this and you can take this to the bank:This yoga/Tantra/Kundalini is easy to understand and get a masterful hand on. The reason for this is that within each of this there lies a spiritual infrastructure. This infrastructure is the mechanism by which God first descends down as pure consciousness, then as He/She provokes the evolution of life, brings life to the jucnture of Man. The Cakras/and their causal manifesting intermediary of Prana/Shakti is the means by which all of this is accomplished. Now when exposed to the Yoga Tantra system, also inherent in the consciousness evolutionary schema, the beforedescribed spiritual infrastructure will be accordingly effected with the result of consciousness ascent but now descent. Just as we all have a beating heart that distributes blood, bones that hold our bodies up, and so forth, our spiritual infrastructure will work necessarily the same with all types of realization. Now the clincher is this: why are there so many systems and so many seemingly different experiences with them all. It is simple, it is because of the evolution of finite self due to the karmic samskaric impressions in the cakras of all of those seeming individuals. If you want to modify the Devi's ascent, do this Tantra breath exercise. This is the actual soham kriya by Swami Satyananda. Sit with the back straight. Can be on a chair edge. Tile your head forward and down and look straight down the front of your body to your pubic area. Now, inhale through both nostrils seeing your breath move up the front of your torso. As it reaches your neck area, now tilt your head back to about a forty degree angle. Continue to pull the breath over your face, up to the top of the forehead, as it remains tilted. Now, exhale, allowing the breath to flow over the tilted head down to the back of it, and on down your back, to the bottom of it. Now drop the head back down like it was originally, looking down your torso, and inhale again to repeat. Do about 11 to 15 breaths. After all of this, look straight ahead without any dot and chant 11 to 19 omms. Take a deep breath on each om and feel the mantra resonate inside the center of your head. After all of this take six good deep filling breaths up and down through yourself, thinking of the being and love of God as all of existence. namaste, yb
No, I've stopped using drugs. And it's not that I try to activate the ajna and the Sahasrara, it just happens. I focus on my breathing and they become active. I think it's best if I just take a break for a while. Thanks for the book, btw I got it a few days ago.
Well, as you've seen, anything can and does affect the sakti, once the process attempts to begin. So, you're correct, and if nothing else I was going to suggest it, if you have problem with the Devi getting too active, just shut your program down, although honestly that may only last for awhile. Please realize what I am about to say here: Regardless of what you read or hear anywhere else about the Kundalini, if it is about fear or caution stuff, ignore it. The Kundalini is not some alien force that can get loose within your being and wreak havoc. She is your finite consciousness now, and any other consciousness you experience. Respect and Love Her as a living aspect of God that you are indeed fortunate to becoming acquainted with, and She will take you to the lotus feet of Shiva.
