Is there such a thing? Coffeeshops with less powerfull weed so the tourists won't puke all over the place because they thought the weed was as low grade as back home. A friend says that the better shops are outside the Centrum where the shops are for the people of Amsterdam themselves.
Not sure. If there are coffeeshops selling low grade weed (and I'm sure there are), I don't think they are doing that for the noble cause of protecting the tourist from being nautious. I buy my stuff mostly at Blue Bird, which is smack in the middle of the center and is very touristy (but conveniently in an area that I pass through a lot).. and it's pretty damn strong.
your such a moron! first yes we all come to amsterdam to smoke low grade weed.wait..... if the weed there is same as here why would we even go? makes alot of sense! second you assume all we have is low grade weed here, not a fact. just not the abundance like amsterdam has, the weed they grow isnt geographically restrained to just amsterdam"it'll grow anywhere". an last but not least placement of the coffeeshop's has nothing to do with "protecting" the tourist from "killer" WEED ! the 3 most important thing's in real estate are location, location ,location, in that order. so post us a pic or link to a "just for local's no tourist welcome coffeeshop" you will find it only exist in your head!
Kinda funny how all the tourists that come on this board always seem so eager to find that 'locals only' coffeeshop so they can have the überbest weed and hang with the incrowd.. hehehe.. sort of endearing really.
I think most coffeeshops have a wide range of weeds available. If a person is not a daily smoker of high quality weed he should make that known to the dealer who will make reccomendations for a more mellow weed. Some shops actually sell low quality brown weeds often called imported weed from Thailand, Columbia, or Jamaica. These are not the quality products of these countries but what Californians call commercial usually at prices around EUR 5/gram or less.
My favorite shop wasn't fancy. Just a little shop off an alley by the Victoria hotel. First shop you'll find in the first alley, off the Damrak from the Victoria. Every morning, they'd open early. 7am, and I'd sit near the big open window, drinking a coffee, eating a cookie, smoking my morning wake n bake and watch the city arise. No pressure to buy anything from them, but they did have excellent AK47. I was the only customer there every morning. Strange since it was such a friendly place in the middle of everything. Easy to overlook cus of it's size I guess. Glad I found it!
Cadcruzer: I can't post a link or picture to a locals non tourist friendly coffeeshop but I remember reference to one from a post at ignatzmice. It was on one of the 3 islands that make up the Gouden Reaal just Northwest of Centraal Station. The posters reported that when they went in they were confronted by an all Arabic customer base that stared at them the whole time they were there. They bought and split as they felt very unwelcome.
well look at his question he say's "all of the shop's outside centrum are for local's only" he's really not even asking a legit question , just his way of saying we all smoke shit weed at home, an puke on ourselves while in amsterdam.
that's the beauty.. everything is acceptable. The most common for the locals is to mix weed & tobacco.. but smoking from a pipe, a bong, a vaporizer.. eating it in cake or chocolate.. everything goes If you're a cigar smoker and want to combine just crumble a cigar, add weed and roll it up again. Hm.. what's it called.. in those shops where they sell bongs and stuff you can buy rolling-papers with taste.. like 'apple' or 'berry'.. stuff like that. They smell awesome but I never tried smoking them, should do that sometimes.
I kind of like to get off the tourist track. Some of us travelers get a bit obnoxious sometimes. We need to work on our manners. A coffee shop with an Arabic clientele sounds cool. Just say "salam allaykum" - - - Be friendly, just like you would to anyone. I'm gonna poke around and find it when I come
