So, I'm watching Mythbusters. They are testing the Chinese Water Torture thing, where they drip water one drop at a time on your head, supposedly it will slowly eat through your skull. They had a woman from the Mythbuster team restrained and testing it, and she was really freaking out after an hour or so. And that was with friends and a health team standing by, knowing she could get out at any time. Now, the eating-through-your-skull part was probably a myth; well, given enough time, it could happen, but....the psychological ramifications, the restraints, the idea that this water will slowly, slowly eat through your head, that could fuck you up. Add to that angry Chinese torturers and interregators, and you've got some extreme conditions. Just think about it man, that would really be a damn good torture if you believed the water would really eat through your head...and with the psychological pressure of shackles, time, sensory deprivation, and pissed off Chinese dudes, you're fucked. Man, as a side note...I read that the Apache used to tie you to a cactus with wet rawhide as a torture/execution, because as the rawhide dried out in the sun, it contracted, pushing you into the cactus spines. I also heard of Native Americans (don't know what tribe) that buried you so only your head was sticking out, leaving your face to burn in the desert sun and be eaten by the ants while you're still alive. Is that far out or what? I know they also used to burn their captives' feet in the fire to make them talk. What are some other weird torture methods you've heard of?

I think there was something about putting a glass tube inside the penis and then breaking it... so everytime you peed it would hurt... I dont know to tired mabey remembering wrong..

At the bottom in the center was a large upright blade. The British would draw and quarter ~ that is tying each of the victims arms and legs to a stallion, then whipping the horses until..... The French invented the iron mask. An iron mask that totally enclosed the head except for eyes and mouth would be rivetted in place on the head of the victim. The head would putrify over a very long period of time. And the people who are capable of using such monstrous ideations still rule the world today. Time to make a stand

i think 'drawing and quartering' is called that because they used quarter horses, but i might be wrong.
I remember reading about this one guy who used to take all the prisiners and put them on really tall spikes. Through out the day the spike would impale you through the rectum until it came out on the other side. Then you wold slowly fall down the spike. They figure that most people would probably survive this for quiet a long amount of time. It gives me the shivers.
Drawn and quartered is called that because it describes the method and result. They probably would not have used quater horses, they simply would not have been strong enough to complete the deed. Sometimes even with the strongest horses the victim's arm and leg tendons had to be cut, and sometimes the limbs themselves had to be cut off. When they pull out your intestines it is called disembowelment Then there is my personal favorite; flaying. People often get this confused with flogging but trust me they are very different. Flaying is when they cut your skin down to the bone around the top of your head just above the eyes. Then they cut from the top of your nose down to your butthole. Then the cut horizontally around the tops of both your legs. Finally they pull off your skin like a big bloody jacket, all while you are still alive.

i think another old apache torture was to strip you naked and tie you to a post. then they'd tie one end of a leather thong to the trigger of a pistol that was pointed at your dick. they tied the other end of the thong to your dick. then they'd get a really hot lookin' young maiden to do a strip tease for ya.

I was reading in The Green Berets about how they tortured these viet cong by strapping a hand to a table, driving a pin under a fingernail until it came out further down the finger and then wiggling it around. That's more mainstream torture, though. Also, when Henry VIII found a wife cheating on him, he had her beheaded and the dude skinned alive, starting with the wee-wee. And there was that chair thing you see in all those movies, but it had eye knob thingies to squish your eyes in. ick.
i thought the chinese water torture was supposed to break you mentally not to put a hole in your skull. theres also a thing were they put bamboo shoots under your finger nails. hmmm... what else...o in babylon (sp) they had the iron horse which was a large blade that they would put you on top of until gravity and the balde cut you in half
chinese water torture is more of a mental thing. Try sitting there for 5 days straight with water dripping on your head every 10 seconds. People would go insane after this.
my memory from year 8 history of drawn and quartered was that they hung you so that your neck wouldnt break and you'd still be alive, then tie you on the ground behind a horse and have the horse run around over rocks and shit to bloody you up, then cut you up keeping you alive as long as possible going limb by limb and then as a warning to other peasants they'd put your dismembered head on a pole in the village for everyone to see. i like the one where they tie you up and cut you open and burn your intestines infront of you inch by inch.

AHH no kidding! that's horrible!! I heard that water dripping thing just eventually starts to feel like a hammer continuously pounding on your head. I would imagine that plus the mental torutre would drive you insane. I've heard some pretty bad stuff, but all i can seem to remember is this mask that they lock onto your head, and on the sides are funels where they would poor boiling oil in your ears.
