Well, I've never really used torent programs before to download anything, it's always been P2P programs, namely basically always Ares, but there's some torents I want to download, and I'm under the impression you need some kind of program to do so yes? So what programs do stoners recommend.

    utorrent.

But you dont download the torrent from the client like in p2p. YOu gotta go to a torrent site
    www.thepiratebay.org

and open the file with utorrent and the rest is automated. Don't forget to seed by leaving the torrents in your downloaded folder and leaving utorrent up until your ratio for each downloaded file is at least at 1.0 (means youve given back as much as you have taken)

    ditto.

you can youtube bittorrent tutorials to get the jist.
the public torrent site i recommend is BTjunkie.org, i find it easier, cleaner and simpler than piratebay. but there are numerous sites you can look up.
just definitely continue torrents. all those other p2p program stuff is stupid and bad for your comp.

and yeah utorrent is the best. for windows that is. if ya got a mac, use transmission.

I was just saying that because if Vuze advertises so much they must be charging for something or loading your computer with a bunch of crap. I've never trusted anything that advertised so much for activities like this.

btjunkie is where i go if i cant find what im looking for on TPB first.

Torrentspy is cool because it searches all the major sites for you and lists all the results .

Huh-In my day, we had not tutorials on YouTube. Seriously though the utorrent help section is excellent. You don't really need to understand it, just follow what it says as far as ratios and speeds and where downloads in progress go vs finished downloads.
Seems a bit daunting at 1st, but set it up once and use forever-enjoy!!!

Somebody wrote this the other day but sometimes it may be easier if say you are looking for Microsoft Word-simply google Microsoft Word Torrent and most of the torrent sites will come up in your search.

PS:I donnot advocate the pirating of software

PSS:I am still 80% asleep so if nothing I wrote makes sense-please disregard. :p

    From ThePirateBay blog...

The Pirate Bay, is and will likely remain the best place to find torrents to download... When they go down (which does happen), wait a day or two, they will be back...

Personally, I prefer using Utorrent over any I have tried, and I've been dling torrents for a very long time... It's always won out...

TPB hasn't been the best for a long time, the best is always a temporary title held by a completely exclusive torrent site with friggin amazing speeds, ones that are worth the super exclusive membership. Sometimes there are 2 or 3 of these sites running, and when they go down the whole world is affected since these 2 or 3 sites are the front-runners of almost all new media as well, pushing out some of the best quality uploads and rare copies of media that no one else can find. Then people re-upload this media in a lower quality format to your traditional sites, and you'll see like on demonoid these ones say "external" which usually means it takes 3 or 4 sites to get to you.

Most of the torrent sites people use might as well be considered the middle men of internet media.

The real torrent sites are delicious, but fuckin hard to keep your ratio up since everyone is mostly downloading. You need something special to offer of your own to make any progress. Like I said though tis all worth it when everything available is FLAC or AIFF and download speeds are damn near 10mb/s

If you have to search for 30 minutes to find a site to download a program that takes 30 minutes to download, that isn't good... which is why I say tpb is the best, check there first, if there is one with over 200 seeds dl it, otherwise keep looking...

they don't downsample stuff. every torrent is uploaded by the user, which enables other users to get files off of their computer. The actual media that you are downloading has nothing to do with the torrent site, except for trackers.

That's what I was talking about, the trackers are on those sites' servers (until they get shut down), and are exclusive to these sites. People do downsample stuff, how do you think big movie rippers get their torrents out, they certainly don't upload to public sites like TPB themselves, other people take care of that for them after they download from them via a more exclusive environment. TPB torrents oftentimes connect you to media companies via their trackers, which is why you need a service like PeerGuardian when using sites like that.

And the external thing on demonoid I was talking about was the fact that they "borrow" other sites' trackers for use on their torrents, which happens quite a bit honestly and some aren't labeled as such
