    Phenomenon
    Event horizon
    Powder
    T2

yes Blackcat there are 20.. but ahh well
it really makes you think if only 5...hehe

what we need is koonts's 'lightning' or Vinges 'f'ire appon the deep' as movies.. [example only, there are hundreds]
Lightning would be a good call.. only secondary special effects...
way twisted plot like T.. time always gets an a+ cause critics cant work it out so they shutup..lol
If i had millions.. THAT is what i would do...
Make the best of SF into film.
i can think of no better use for money

    Sundiver
    The fall of chronopolis
    RINGW0RLD
    Tactics of mistake
    The war for eternity
    Consider phlebas
    The forever war
    Operation proteus
    Radix
    Raft
    The many coloured land
    Hyperion
    Rendezvous with Rama
    Crossover/killswitch

    I agree, I like 2010 better too...

A lot of people have never seen THX, but I thought it was a masterpiece.

    No problem..

Forbin Project... that's another good one. I don't think THX has ever come out on video yet... wish it would. I have the Day the Earth Stood Still on DVD. We need more of the old sci fi movies on DVD.

I remember Invasion from Mars when I was a kid... for us kids, it was turned into a neighbor game.

    Ah, the good old days.

    As a Kid:

    1) Forbidden Planet
    2) The Day the Earth Stood Still
    3) Earth versus the Flying Saucers
    4) The H-Man
    5) The Blob

At 15, the blob was the scarriest ever. It had me looking around doors, on ceilings, under couches and beds, behind couches, at the heater vents ... everywhere a blob could hide to try to catch me ... boy was that the scariest ever ...

At 5, Forbidden Planet was my all time favorite, along with a sci-fi
    marionette series called Fireball XL-5.

Solaris and 2001: A Space Odyssey are two of my favorites of all time , regardless of genre. However , I haven’t seen the original Solaris. I’ve only seen the George Clooney version . But to me it asked an important question.

When he was on the space station having flashbacks of his deceased wife while sleeping , then was woken up by her , he was shocked and asked her how she got there. Then he went and told the remaining crew members what happened after he jettisoned her into space and then she was back again when he awoke a second time. They told him he needed to “get rid” of her again and that he was being “seduced all over again” and basically stating that he was willingly letting himself succumb to insanity.

And it made me wonder , is there a love so strong that if your lover “died” , you would willingly let yourself lose your “sanity” just to have the illusion that you are again with them?

    1. The original Stargate
    2. Event Horizon
    3. Solaris
    4. 12 Monkeys
    5. Back To The Future Trilogy

I played that game, one of the few movie tie in games that didn't suck. A lot of people I know said they didn't like the CoR, but me...I love 'em. I also like Vin Diesel a lot. He's about as versatile as Bruce Willis, which is to say not much. But I just enjoy watching that persona he portrays...plus he makes me envious because of his size.
