OOoo, I had this conversation the other day with somebody I know. Right, no order 1. Final Fantasy 7, or any other really (playstation) 2. Golden Eye (N64) 3. Halo (any) (XBOX/360) 4. Metal Gear Solid (Playstation) 5. Twisted Metal World Tour (Playstation) 6. Mech Warriors or Another World (Snes) 7. Dragon Crystal (Game Gear) 8. Super Mario Bros. 3, or again, any of them (Nes) 9. Super Smash Brothers (any) 10. Pokemon (Gameboy) I tried to cover a few consoles, I didn't want to bias towards any. Although the best consoles ever I believe where the first PS and the SNES.
I really don't think so, there are loads of better games. I mean I looked back on my list and felt bad, I could add another 10 wicked games but they on top of that. Fable wouldn't be in that one either
I know its tough to come up with 10 that youre satisfied with, but its a nice well rounded number. Good call on twisted metal and smash bros.
Hah, you've plasted Twisted Metal? Tell you what, that second game is a forgotton classic. For the few people I know who've played it, there is no one that can say it's a bad game whatsoever. Still playing it to this day. I like your list btw, quite a few games I chose, plus others I like too.
1. Gears of War 2 (360) 2. Mortal Kombat (Any) 3. Neverwinter Nights 1 and 2 (PC) 4. Diablo 2 (PC) 5. Mass Effect 2 (360) 6. Call of Duty (any of them) 7. Dead Rising (360) 8. Halo (Any) 9. Final Fantasy (Any) 10. GUITAR HERO! Just kidding. Gauntlet (Arcade) Call me old fashioned but, I'm not
Everybody is saying Halo. Seriously, if anyone considers themselves good at that game, hit me up. I'm a level 45/46, and everybody I know is shit. But then, I need a life
1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 2. Final Fantasy VII 3. Skies of Arcadia 4. Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne 5. Chrono Trigger 6. Valkyrie Profile 7. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night 8. Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance 9. Shadow of the Colossus 10. Ikaruga
Doobie I only played gears of wars twice and I really like that game and have a feeling it would crack the list had I played it more. What's up with the pc games? I clearly stated no pc games. Uggh what was I thinking asking hippies to follow rules.
I will as soon as I get fucking internet and live. I moved to South Africa a month ago and I have to wait till Summer Not because it'll take long but because I'm going round' the world in a week so there's no point haha. Plus, I don't have Halo, I traded it in for weed money. But as soon as all this happens, I'll hit you up for some MURDERBALLLLL! (Oddball but one hit kills and more badass) Used to play that shit 24/7 in my flat with my three friends haha.
1. Deus Ex 2. S.T.A.L.K.E.R 3. Command and Conquer 4. Metal Gear Solid 5. Half Life. 6. Army of Two 7. FarCry 8. Quake II 9. Doom. 10. Dead Space. All I can think of at the moment. Just the most groundbreaking for me
Super Mario Bros Valkyrie Profile Final Fantasy VII Samba de Amigo Arc the Lad (for PS1) ALL the Tekken games (except for 4) Metal Gear Solid Katamari Damacy REZ Resident Evil 4 These lists....so many good games...hard to pick just ten.
Wow, I noticed a lot of older games on these lists. Very True, cause is it just me or do video games suck these days? X-Box and PS2 had some great classics, buying a video game was truly exciting. However since the 360 and PS3 came out, the quality in games have dropped considerably. It's all graphics and no substance. Lots of just running around in linear environments coupled with mindless shooting here and there, with pretty CGI scenes sprinkled throughout. Not to mention they're becoming more expensive and companies have been using online/multiplayer play to rip customers off at every turn. I get so bored playing video games on the newer consoles. At first I thought I was just getting older and maturing, but then I turn on the good ol PS2 and it's like I'm a mindless 14/15 year old all over again. Am I the only one who thinks this? BTW, I also played Twisted Metal 2. Classic. It was one the first few games I played on the PS1 around when it first came out. I remember when I first got the cheat code to unlock Minion, I thought I was on top of the world. Some other games worth mentioning are the Odd World games. Great adventure games.
You are a beautiful human being I agree with everything you have said. As I previously have stated, TM2 rocks. It really is style over substance these days.
I think the video game industry is just now in the ending stages of it's Golden Age. Video game classics are still being released every single year. We are still getting amazing titles that will be remembered for as long as the medium is alive. However, the industry is larger than it has ever been, it really exploded in popularity, and because of that it's become bloated and it's easy to overlook all the qualities titles in a sea of violence and sexuality. You just have to do your research and know where to look.
There are plenty of good games of the moment, but no great ones. But people are different, everyone has a different opinion and taste. Either way, this is why I don't like things as much now I love NHL. I hae bought most of the titles from 93 onward (hockey family). Now back when the controls were shoot, one button, pass was another, check- you get my drift. NOW it is as follows. 'To shoot the puck wiggle the joystick whilst pressing A and the direction you want to shoot in. Also, to choose the type of shot press the back button and Y together.' And that's one thing. It's just become so insanely complicated I can't be bothered. The only people who love these new games are people who can afford to play then all the time. I don't have that amount of time, and although I have played and loved games for years, I consider myself a casual gamer... apart from with RPG's and the likes. I can sit around with those for a while
Of course there are great ones being released. I really never understand why people adopt this kind of attitude. I chalk it up to "rose-tinted glasses" syndrome. It's just like how a lot of people cite the N64 as the greatest system of all time, yet you can count the number of titles worth owning for the system on one hand. I mean, the games I had in my childhood will always have a place in my heart and will always be great to me, but objectively, games that match or surpass though games, not just technologically but creatively, are being released on almost a month to month basis. The perspective of "the hayday of video games is over" is one that is only serving to deprive you of the experiences you could be looking back on in 10 years time and saying "wow, that was a great game". This is especially true for you if you enjoy RPGs.
1.Super Smash Bros. any but my fav is Brawl 2.Zelda Ocarina of Time 3.Metal Gear Solid 4.Final Fantasies 6-8 and 10-13. i love 12 and 13 the most though 5.Super Mario Galaxy 6.Legend Of Dragoon 7.the Metroid Prime trilogy 8.DDR hehehe 9.Katamari Damacy 10.Resident Evil 4 neodude, YES thank you, i love the way you think. And you liked Skies Of Arcadia to put it as #3? I really liked it and it was super memorable, but other games have some better gameplay imo. Glad theres someone else that has actually played that game.
