Our country has been hijacked. We, the people, are in charge of this government and have let it get out of our control. We do not live to fulfill the role government has enforced upon us, it is the other way around. Many people in this country and, no doubt, on this website can see our rights being stripped away. The sad truth is, however, that most peole cannot see and are unwilling to see. It is our responsibility to awaken them. It is our duty to stand up for our constitution. The first step is to open the eyes of those around you. Many will not want to hear what you have to say as they have been programed to tune you out and the things you point out will most likey be in direct conflict with the way they are living. Do whatever you can to make them see that thier rights are in jeapordy and once taken away will never be returned. WAKE UP
I really don't see what good you're going to accomplish when you point out that the USA has been highjacked, unless you're willing to point out WHO IT WAS who did the highjacking. If you're trying to make inroads against the highjackers, you're going to have to name them, i.e. you're going to have to name who they are.
^^^I agree. Also which rights exactally are you talking about, and how are they being stripped? Unfortunataly the time to protest this was years ago when Bush was appointing consertives to the supream court. At least the anti-freedom crowd is out of the white house and justice department for now.
How sad it is to have to explain to freemen that they are no longer free. I am not talking about protesting by the way. I am talking about waking people up to the crimes around them. You fools would rather ask for specific details and names then simply look around at the once great country of your fathers. You know what I am talking about and if not that is fine, count yourselves amongst the teeming masses who swallow whatever reality is presented to them by those in power. The ones who need to understand, do.
It is now confirmed that the new president is simply continuing the insane foreign policies of the Bush Administration. Do you really believe that the nation is somehow better off with a new crop of traitors and charlatans in the White House ?
I'm old enough to remember how it was back in the days when the USA was more-or-less a free country; that was before the criminal 'highjackers' came along and seized control of the government. Well ... maybe they haven't seized total control as of yet, but the machinery WAS put in place for that to happen. It was put in place by the Patriot Act and the Military Commissions Act. Obama still hasn't repudiated the new laws which negate the US Constitution, so the situation looks very bleak indeed. How do you propose to restore the rule of our Constitution ? I understand that you'd rather not name the names of criminals who've destroyed the nation, is that right ? But how on earth are you ever going to bring those criminals to justice if you don't want to identify them by name ?
We never had rights in the first place? Lol..... not the current generation, but we definately had more freedoms going back into the day. I've heard this battle cry a 1000x. Really it's startin to get old. I think we're lookin for solutions.
I know exactly where you are coming from. But after 09/11 we didn't dare speak out for fear of being seen as terrorists, when all we wished was to defend our constitutional rights.
Actually there was a time when we had rights. But we sold them to corporate America for the promise of prosperity it's called deregulation. How's that working for you today?
Gentleman, now is the time to stand strong and proud. Now is the time to live for our convictions. I firmly believe that the constitution of this great country is the last defence before a dark age of tyranny and destruction. At no time in history have the people as a whole had the ability to define thier own lives and the future of thier country and no time soon will that reoccur. Yes I too have heard this rallying cry a thousand times, but you must not let that diminish your hope or your beliefs. Things are looking very bleak indeed, but I promise I will not go down without a fight. I will not sit by and watch all that is decent in this cruel world be turned into a joke. I will not bow my head and shuffle my feet to the master's calling. The simple truth still remains that without us the government has nothing. We truely are the Kings and Queens of this land. Not the elected officials. We must always remember that this our land. It is up to us to uphold the laws of our constitution and bill of rights. This is fast becoming the most important time of our lives. And as I said previously, I say, we start by waking up those around us, maybe ourselves a little. I fear, however, that there is not much time left. At the very least buy a gun. Firearms are second only to the Constitution in importance; they are the peoples' liberty's teeth. -George Washington .
Trust me, if I lived by myself I would definately have a gun. And right now life arrangements (1 year of chronic stacking illnesses, JUST healing) haven't let me hold a stable job. But with what resources I have you bet that I'm not gonna go down without a fight. You know those Native Americans that had to live in the Floridian Everglades cuz of the gvt taking over their way of life? Sometimes I feel like that's going to be like some of us Americans fighting for our way of life. They're trying to kill off all the buffalo (metaphorically of course).
I remember discussing this in one of my classes one day. I told them that we have no privacy or freedom. Some dude was so offended and pissed off at me that he figured I had to be a space alien to be so stupid.
I don't know about you ... but I didn't sell anything to corporate America. The loss of constitutional rights has very little to do with "corporate America," but it has everything to do with the fact that we're being terrorized in the name of fighting terrorism. You can't have it both ways: you can't have any constitutional rights as long as there's an evil "boogey man" out there who's lurking around every corner. The protection of human life MUST take priority over your constitutional rights. If you're going to accept the ideology of terrorism that was foisted on you by the ruling powers in the aftermath of the 9-11 "false flag" attacks, then maybe you should accept the draconian security measures without bitching and moaning about the loss of your constitutional rights.
constitutional rights did not apply to blacks, native americans, asians, and pretty much anyone who wasn't a WASP until the late 20th century. america is a hell of a lot better than most countries, but certainly is not the best.
If the government knew how to run our country properly and maturely, they would see it fit to pull our troops from Iraq/The Middle East, and stop all war.
That's the problem alright. And since the government is made up of politicians that the people elect then it follows that someone isn't doing due diligence when they elect the ones that govern the US. If we fell for fewer promises of keeping us safe and continuing to keep the US a world power we might be better off. If we demanded transparency and oversight as the electorate our government might work the way it was designed in the Constitution.
I see no reason why we can't protect our contitutional rights and fight an enemy. But I've long held that this general fear of terrorism an open ended term with no specific definition is a slippery slope we should not have allowed ourselves to engage in. Much as at every turn we are threatened that the economy will collapse if we institute fair taxes on business and oversight and transparency in their transactions. Our lives are supposed to revolve constantly around what is said to be good for business. There comes a point when one needs to consider if business is good for society.
