I'm not much into conspiracy theories because of the doom and gloom it seems to create, a lot of paranoia without much solution and a dwelling on the bad aspects.

This film, however, made me realize the legitimacy of this 'illuminati' and that it COULD be real, also while suggesting how to circumvent disaster on an 'illuminati' scale as well as the problems that we see across the world (war, famine, sickness)

What I have believed for a while though, is that it doesn't matter if it is real or not. We need change and we need to start it OURSELVES and not expect our government to be able to move some papers around and solve our problems.

We have a lot of power as taxpaying citizens of the world...like...not paying your taxes for instance.......:2thumbsup:

    Right on.
He gets to a point in the video with clips of machines that are really really amazing if they are doing what they are claiming to be doing. Even if the machines are a farce, the footage is interesting.

There's one that claims to be anti-gravity. A couple machines that put out more energy than they take to operate.

Government isn't there to help you, it's there to control you.

O shit, I sound like a conspiracy theorist.. Probably better to ignore everything I say.

I'm certain the illuminati is real, though it might not call itself that. There is no doubt that there is a powerful elite that control the world. They've created the systems of the dysfunctional society we live in, systems designed to make the rich & powerful richer and more powerful, while disempowering the masses.

Money is the main system they used to enslave us. Hell, we are willing and grateful slaves. It's really quite ingenious. "None are more hopelessly enslaved than those who falsely believe they are free"

They sedate us with their control of the media, they share what is advantageous and censor the rest, they poison our food and water to make us susceptible to illness, they shackle us with their bank loans, and they discredit those who would see truth revealed.

But now we live in a world where information is freely available, so there is hope. The key IMO is to reach a critical mass of people who understand the scam, and that time is coming. I just hope it won't be too late.

The key is another moment when time, place and circumstances cause another climax. We now are in between periods of revolutionary change (a doubtful blessed state of ignorance and apathy where it seems bearable (and pleasant) for the majority to do nothing). If you'd compare these revolutionary climaxes to war we are now in an interbellum. I think it's good to enjoy this time. When the critical masses feel finally forced again to take action the peace is over (also good naturally).

Government is there to govern what is right and wrong (based on the values, decisions and debates supported by the people), not to control you.

i'll watch it later, but will probably turn it off if it goes too far into conspiracy territory.. mainly because any given conspiracy theory is decided upon before any of the facts are looked at, then selective evidence is used as "proof". it's a totally backwards way of thinking, and people more often than not have emotional investments in them.

the truth is that no one has their finger on the button. no one's in control and we're all aboard this runaway freight train. it's kind of scary but also kind of uplifting.

that's the same way i am
i don't think there is a special executive board that consciously think and devise ways of killing everyone.

but there definitely ARE executive boards (and lots of em) that work to capitalize dollars off of human suffering and exploitation.

the first half of the movie doesn't really touch conspiracy and the conspiracy part isn't really super in depth - it more explains, or tries to rather, how/why there is an elite minority that work in unison to keep gaining more power - which is much more plausible than the brief mention of the fact that these people want to kill the majority of the world's population.

as i said earlier, though, it doesn't matter if there is or isn't an agenda behind it, the fact of the matter is that it isn't working out too nicely and we have the technology and ability to provide for everyone on the planet with all the luxuries that an American citizen enjoys.

Laugh, but the majority of the world don't enjoy running water at disposable amounts, shelter, food (at least a meal a day) and clothes at hand.

All of which are attainable even if you have literally nothing to your name in America.

There's a level at which your own cynicism and negative view for a country begins to blind you instead of 'opening your mind' as it does when the cynicism first emerges. I feel this is the same way people get caught up in conspiracies. Which - cool if you are into it, but dwelling on how fucked we are will only perpetuate the fucked levels.

Actually, if we assume that "the majority" means more than 50%, then the majority of the world - and then some - has decent access to both food and water.

Sure, lots of people are starving. But just because there are worse countries to live in, doesn't mean your country is a great place to live (no matter how many times you tell yourselves that it's "the greatest country in the world.")

The USA is a social nightmare, governed by religious fanatics who have to cater to massive corporations to ensure future political campaigns are paid for. Using the US as an ideal to live up to is crazy.

It's not logical to consider quality of life on the same premise globally. Most people have their basic needs covered. Everything beyond those basic needs is just fluff, and what fluff is desirable varies greatly from culture to culture. We think we set the standard for quality of life in the west, but our standards are set by financial wealth, and in the real world, in many typically poor countries, it's not problematic to grow your own food, for example, nor do they give a shit whether they have a TV & cell phone or not. Despite (or because of?) all of our luxury, we are just as miserable, if not more so, in the west as people in many 2nd and 3rd world countries.

I agree that in theory, we have the technology and the resources to feed, clothe and house all people. But in practice, the world is run by profit, which leads to hunger and an abhorrent and cynical abuse of natural resources. People in fertile areas are starving, and their farmers are growing cotton and tobacco instead of food.

Unless people use that fear your speaker was talking about to detect the danger, that's not going to change any time soon. For example, over fishing will not stop unless people are made aware that it is a problem. And if it does not stop, a large part of the world's population - namely those in poorer countries who often rely on the ocean for food - will starve.

I appreciate your point about not dwelling on how fucked up the world is. And I don't, there's too much good in it for that. But we gotta be aware of the shit that's going on, and spread awareness, or it's going to keep going on unchecked. Things are never so good that they can't get better.

i don't get it... you say that money is only a means of controlling the masses, yet you seem upset that there are rich people in the world. then you go on about bank loans like you didn't sign up for them in the first place.

are you just broke and upset about it?

I don't see how those are conflicting notions.

The monetary system is a way to enslave willing masses.

I'm not so much upset that there are rich people as I am upset that rich people are using their wealth to keep other people poor.

I don't have any debts, I'm not broke. I'm far from rich, but I have no worries about money (except for the whole willing slavery thing) I can live within the system and take advantage of it even though I see it for the scam it is.

i figured that maybe someone who feels that way about the monetary system has liberated themselves from it. but it's a lot easier to have a strong negative viewpoint on it than it is to eliminate it from your life. and it's totally possible - it just takes a lot more effort. we are as free as we let ourselves be.

but i don't feel that way about money. i think it's a necessary medium for exchanging goods and services. we used to trade loaves of bread for sheep and chickens, or seeds for firewood.. whatever, but deciding on an inherit value on everything you want to barter is too much work, so the concept of a fixed value medium was created. that's all it is - though people tend to build their worlds around it, what it comes down to.. it's just fucking paper. it only makes you a slave if you let it.

like i said, conspiracy theories operate and spread based on the same FEAR that governments use to keep us under 'control' - when you act like this country is shit because of the way things are now, and that it seems hopeless or far-fetched, all you are doing is occupying space and taking up more resources. move the fuck over or get over your self.

the luxuries that the US enjoy are NOT enjoyed by anywhere near the majority of people in the world...to say that most people in the world have access to clean drinking water let alone a roof over their head is pathetically ignorant.

Once again, if we assume that "majority" means more than 50%, then food, water and shelter are enjoyed by the majority of the world's population.

I guess you didn't read my previous post, I won't bother to elaborate much further in this one.

It's clear you haven't seen much of the world apart from the USA.

    Yeah, I'm pathetically ignorant.

It's convenient to have a medium to exchange goods and services. The monetary system, especially in its current incarnation, is a very poor option. Poor for the poor, that is. For the rich, it is perfect.

People are programmed to want to ensure their own survival, reasonably enough. With money being the universal medium to trade for the things you need to survive, people hoard money. They are insatiable; there's is no such thing as "enough money" for most people. And so they make themselves richer at the expense of others.

With the modern monetary system, it gets even worse. There are many books and documentaries that can explain it much better than I can, so if you care to, educate yourself. But the basic premise is that the majority must be poor in order for the minority to be wealthy. How is that sane or healthy?

    It's neither sane nor healthy....

In reality there actually isn't any money, other than the paper stuff out in circulation, the whole global economy is based on "smoke and mirrors". If we just stopped right now for a day and totaled up everybody's "net worth" and compared that to the amount of possible commodities (gold, silver, oil, crops, etc. etc.) existing on our planet, we would find that we would probably need three "Earths" to cover it all... And this total "net worth" keeps growing by the minute. It's shear madness to involve yourself in such a system except on the most basic level... It would be better to find a situation that got you out of it completely.

The house of cards will collapse at some point...
