Hello all, I’ve seen this site a few times via having it pop up on search results when searching a specific question. I thought it was interesting that all of the oldest posts I could find were from the year I was born (2004) so I thought I would sign up. Nice to meet you all!
Please bear with me everybody, I’m having trouble navigating this site as the UI is a bit before my time; how does the quoting and the like work?
To like a post, just click the word that says 'like.' That's it! To quote a post, hit the '+quote' from any post, then go to the post reply at the bottom of the thread page, and then you will see a button that says 'insert quotes,' the quote will appear in the reply box, then you can comment about it.
I think this is working. Thank you! It really is bizarre how one struggles with things even slightly anachronistic with their lived experiences. I am 21 years old, so I am frequently helping my parents with technology related things, yet they would likely be able to navigate this site better than myself from the drop. I’ve looked around the community a bit to see what online culture was like at the time when I was a baby and a young child. It seems like this place was the it spot for the better part of a decade. I am interested to explore the community as it is today. Thank you all for having me!
The Hipforums were around for years before you were born, also before Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube were born! In 2004 we switched software for like the third time. So that is the earliest date this software shows. In 2026, the forums will be 30 years old!
