this forum is going to hell

well ok, when i just started smoking, i was 13, almost 14. i was dumb, really young and foolish. i would fall for stupid tricks and believe almost everything. after about 2 days of smoking weed, i realised ppl talk shit, so i started going on the internet and seeing shit that not one person says but hundreds. bang i found out everything. by 1 month of smoking weed, i knew the basics 2 growing it both indoors and guerilla style, i knew various smoking paraphenelia, i could build smokeable joints and i knew many things about the herb. once i discovered this site, i would ocasionaly ask some strange shit, but it werent shit u find on google in a minute, and it wasnt pure common sense. so this is me asking, when i was 14, was i hell of alot more intellegent than most 17-22 year old with under 500 posts who come here?

so my conclusion is, either im a living genius, one out of this whole place, or this place is getting crowded with morons stating bigger bullshit than ull find up opprahs fat ass. now in my time here, i know there are alot of clever ppl here, so im wrong 2 think im a genius, but then this place is getting crowded with dumbfucks. i mean shit like ah weed is half the time laced with meth, etc etc. ffs in my over 1 year of smoking and hooking people up with weed, i can honestly say i dont even know wat meth looks like. because ive never seen/encountered it. this is getting irritating, people with no braincells, asking shit like wats the best song ever, like they missunderstood the explanation about ''as long as there is oppinions, there will never be a best'' they were meant to learn wen they werre 12. now im abit drunk, but this is 100% true, and im getting really pissed off about this shit

 

well people do lie about their age on the net.

plus most of the people who ask stupid questions are n00bs to smoking, or have no common sense.

you do make some good points though..

 

yeah man, the best way to learn shit about the herb is to go online, get about 4 or 5 sites
and compare information, like if 3/5 sites say that _____ happens, it's probly true
but if 2/5 sites say ______ it's probly not true

you're smart to not believe what everyone says, cuz alot of myths get passed around
and alot of n00b smokers believe it and get paranoid and spread it around again
it's just an endless cycle

This forum is getting worse, whenever i come on all i ever see are the same shit boring threads again and again such as "What is your fave movie to watch high?!!!111" or "What munchies do you eat?"

ya.. i wish there was another area other than the stoners lounge to have more serious threads only.

if you remember we had discussed that at one point probably around a year ago, when the forums were flooded with a bunch of bullshit at that time too. and by "that" i mean an advanced stoners lounge, where you'd need a minimum of say 400 posts to access it, but if i remember the forumers decided that if that were to happen then the rest of the areas would be flooded with more than usual bullshit posts so these kids could reach their quota. One idea might e to set up a stoners lounge available only to site supporteres, theres a sub forum in Love and Sex that is available only to those who've paid their dues and are 18+. That might allow us to have serious threads.

 

I dont feel i should pay to indulge in serious conversation tho.

I'm all for this idea; I don't mind payin' a few bucks for the opportunity to converse intelligently.

 

I agree that the age restriction does not apply here, but it does make sense in the love and sex one. I was just giving an example of a different part of hipforums. I dont think the paying sucks, I'm a site supporter as is. 10 whole dollars a year, that's like finding a US quarter a week.

the forum has a choice if everyone is finally fed up with redundancy of threads. Most folks know I am tired of these threads which is why I post a link to a previous thread which had a good discussion often when these new movie ones come.
Choice 1- Do nothing, keep the status quo.
Choice 2- Look into an "advanced stoners lounge." Once again I believe the only justifable qualification would be donations because post count would just cause some people to make a bunch of pointless posts just to have access and then ruin the ASL. the other possibility is time of membership say 6 months at hipforums before posting privelage is granted to ASL.
Choice 3- As a group of forumers, stop replying to these trite threads. Let one person post a link to a previous thread and then let it die. But that would require everyone working together.
Choice 4- Petition meangreen to actively remove these so called threads andjust combine them with previous threads
Choice 5- create a new subforum Stoner's favorites. and then all the pointless favorite song movie etc threads can all be directed/redirected into there.


These are just a few options from how I see it. I think in reality it would take a combination of choices to greatly improve these already pretty good forums. But once again this would have to a collective action to make any sort of change. If you are unwilling to take action to improve the forums, then IMO you are unable to bitch about the quality of discussions and topics here.
