in my opinion the two best books ever are The Electric Kool-aid Acid Test and the Dharma Bums. those books have everything i have ever wanted be a part of in them. i highly recommend them...what are you guys' two favories and what books to you feel like they are telling your life story?

I love the Great Gatsby and in a weird way I feel like it's telling my life story...Why exactly? I don't know...I also like Pride and Prejudice...

I like all of the books listed a lot, except P & P which I've never read.

I would add Siddhartha or Narcissus & Goldmund by Hermann Hesse

I agree very much with dharma bums being one of the best books. I haven't read the acid test book so I can't comment on it.

1984 was the first book that I read that left me breathless in the end. In fact I think I may give it another whirl.

Daniel Quinn writes about stuff that more then interests me, he's absolutely amazing. Ishmael and The Story of B are my two favorites from him, and probably truly my favorite books.
I'm reading a book now by John Berger called Ways of Seeing, and it's veryyy awesome, veryyyy cool.

Oscar Wilde's The Picture of Dorian Grey and George Orwell's Animal Farm. 1984 took my breath away, as well, but I read Animal Farm really early on. It was kind of like an introduction into...everything, I guess you could say.

I don't think I could chose two faves.
Tom Robbins wakes me up when I get complacent and Ed Abbey reminds me I'm right to hate complacency.
    Good enough start.
