Fuck giving up - all this means is now I'll hang around OUTSIDE the pub, probably not buying as many drinks.
Stupid fucking anti-choice government. yeah yeah, passive smoking, whatever, but haven't the fuckers heard of a little thing called a SMOKING SECTION?

Just means I won't be going to the pub so often. Not that I really went that often anyways.

Seems quite rude not to of been given a choice. Surely if the government think it's so dangerous and unwanted they should of come right out and banned it altogether. Goodness knows why they wouldn't

But personally I don't mind anymore really. I'd ideally like to quit smoking cigarettes so it's chance to make the change easier.

A good move would be to legalise weed and have Amsterdam style coffee shops, where those who smoke can congregate away from the healthy drunks of the nation :)

I think it would be quite easy to give up now the ban has gone. I must be honest, it really isn't that big a deal besides being at gigs and not being able to smoke. And I must say, you do feel more refreshed being in a pub, and not smothered in a thick smog of tobacco.:)

Well I was always going to quit when I finished uni anyway, and I have now, but I'm very uncomfortable about the ban. Pubs for me have always been places where people could go to smoke and drink. As long as they provided good ventilation and separate smoke-free areas I can't see the need for the ban....

Dunno what you lot will think, but i think that the ban will lead to more fights and crap outside the pubs, with a whole load of people standing around in the streets to smoke.

It's just the beginning of England as a complete nanny state, I am not going to quit, neither is anyone I know. But I will sure miss the pub, smoking and drinking... It brings a tear to my eye. Its ok to go outside to smoke now...in the summer, but winter, fuck that, we will be freezing out nuts/boobies off.

To right, but what if your doctor told you to quit ?

The social stigma is going to get pretty bad also, not a problem if one wishes to position oneself outside of society, it could even become a badge of honour I suppose. "I dont listen to authority".

I've stubbed fags on dancers before now, accidently whilst a smoker, not a cool thing to do. Smoking in a field is alright anyway, different in a tent, but I was aware before I quit that it is quite uncommon to see people smoke in public anymore, it has become anti-social and will only become more so.
