This is my personal belief, so you can agree or disagree with me at your own will. Weed isn't necessarily a bad thing. In fact it can be a great thing. However, the only thing that keeps its reputation nasty and stereotypes ARE the people associated with it. I get bad vibes hanging around people that bring the stoner stereotype into reality. The people that don't value education, slack in school, and have generally no direction in life at all. The people that just bring bad vibes in general. Weed turns you into a fucking stupid stingy bitch, IF you let it control you like that. It is a powerful substance that can alter your entire being. My best friend has been controlled by the weed. He used to be a smart kid, generous and all that jazz. Go forward a few years. Now he's basically skipped a full year of school, has about 10 credits in his junior year, gives up on any idea of doing anything except smoking weed. He basically uses everyone he can to smoke. And its not just him I've seen thats been transformed like this. In fact its most of my friends. It seems like I'm the only one with goals these days in my circle of aquiantances. Until a few weeks ago of self contemplation I finally realized this, for I was heading my self in a downward slump. Weed isn't important, no matter how much you think it is, because until we live in a world where money and power doesn't matter, you NEED an education, and you NEED goals in life. It feels whenever I hang out with these people it depresses me and I feel so akward like I shouldn't be there. But when I smoke alone, since I haven't found many people that smoke and have the same ideals as me, the true power of weed opens up to me, and I can actually use it for the reasons I started smoking in the first place. Sorry if this comes out as a wall of text.
:cheers2: Good explanation! i agree. it only changes you if you let it, but that still is a valid reason for keeping it illegal, there are many who can't.
I agree, wholeheartedly. Whether weed is good or bad depends entirely on the person who is using it and what they are using it for. Weed isn't really good or bad, but it can be used in positive ways and negative ways. It's certainly not for everyone.
agreed they ruin for everyoen else though and i also hate how everyoen has a stereotype cos a small minority of those who smoke are pricks who are all ' yeahhh mate get fking wrecked mate, fking stoned out mee fking face maatteeee' they are the ones who let the world know they smoke green, so everyoen thinks that green makes you act like a twat. whereas there loads of professional people and not twats etc that smoke weed but dont tend to let the world know. So others onyl think asses smoke it you know
It's so weird. I find that while weed can make a person seek pleasure above all else, most of the stoners I know, and most of the people that identify themselves as stoners these days are the only people (in America) that actually bother to do things like think.
I would have totally agree'd with you maybe 5-6 years ago. But I think that its all about the age of the people your smoking with. Youngins gennerally are immature about it and want to be that stero-type, Well.... maybe not be the stero-type, but more like a phase. Most people go through a phase like that when their young, with or without use of weed. Personally I suffer from BAD adhd so I never went through that phase while smoking mainly because the weed acted almost like a medication. But I can see where your coming from!
The crowds you smoke with are VERY easy to stereotype. When kids start smoking in high school you'll see a lot of variety in smokers. Some are novice smokers and some are ALWAYS stoned. College is a much more accepting place for smokers but if you smoke a lot of week you'll gravitate towards people that are cool with you packing a bowl in their living room any time. Once you get past the college/mid 20's point in your life, you'll see a lot of crazy things. A lot of people are looking at getting serious jobs with require a pre employment drug test and when you take the economy into consideration people must always be prepared to get a new job next week. I've met people you would never expect as smokers but they are the casual type that maybe smoke once a day after work. I've met people in their 30's that work at a pizza place still (after 10 years or so) and spend half their paycheck on weed while stealing beer from the restaurant. Weed might be something that you have in common with someone else but that shouldn't be the only reason why you are friends with them. I think it's very important to have the same moral values as your friends. I know my friends usually don't have money but they wouldn't steal from me and they would do whatever possible to help me out if I was in a bind.
It does, and I see an opening in the bottom right side of your wall. I will squeez through and pillage your city.
Yeah I see this a lot. All my friends who I use to jam with a lot are not serious about music like I am, they would rather get drunk/high, no other goals, or jobs, just schemin to get a buzz..
I also hate how all of my friends refer to smoking weed as getting fucked up. If your fucked up off of smoking weed you must be smoking some laced ass shit.
I've been fukt up as hell from smoking weed. It has actually fukt me up more than ANYTHING else. haha I don't know many people who have had seizures from being too stoned.
great post the crowd i used to run with was like that now i dont smoke im on probation now i hang out with painkiller users lol
yea. for real. thats completelu true. i love smoking by myself a bowl before bed. to calm me down, help me sleep let me think... etc. when im with my friends we blaze to get fucked up and that just isnt the same.
There's a time and place for everything. It's good to smoke a little bit and just catch a buzz, but sometimes you just have to smoke yourself into oblivion:sifone:
yeah, i know exactli the kinda people you mean, asamatteroffact i gotta confess, i behaved pretty much exactli like that back when id just been smokin weed for a short while. thinking i knew everything about it, that i was the coolest kid in the world, basiacally acting like a bit of a prick. tbh, youve just gotta look back at some of my old posts to see evidence of it . Since then tho, i'd like to think ive grown up, chilled out. learned to enjoy the effects of weed and the socialising and atmosphere it creates, rather than just the image. its really helped me figure out who my real friends are, and helped me meet some great people and have a lot of fun, once id gotten over that initial stage and began to relax about the whole thing. i guess a lot depends on your age and maturity, most people grow out of that stage, but some don't. the stereotype exists cos the people who behave like that are the most blatant and loud about partaking, so they get associated with it. for the most part, stoners i now know seem to keep it fairly discreet, i was really surprised to discover some of the people that i know smoke, the coolest people tend to be the ones who don't think theyre cool.
Agreed. The same thing happened to one of my best friends. Started wiyh weed then he started meth. Needless to say he is in the ground now.
