Punk-Hardcore-Emo Hardcore is speeded up Punk with distortion and screaming. Emo is short for Emotive Hardcore, which is a sub-genre of Hardcore which is more melodic and has more intelligible vocals. Screamo is a sub-genre of emo, with pure screaming vocals.
yeah i dont like how most kids who think they're in the emo scene today couldn't name a real emo band if it came up and bit them in the ass
i think whats worse is the fact that the "anti-emo" people out there dislike emo just because of what they read through the mainstream. they just judge the whole thing based on stereotypes (self-injuring, hairstyle, tight pants, etc). I took the time to gain knowledge on the whole scene before I made my final judgement. The reason that the kids dress like that is because they want to emulate what their favorite bands' appearence. Its not about copying what the other guy looks like, but rather about finding yourself. Every sub-culture has a sense of brotherhood among them, and its only natural that the members of each sub-culture bonds with another member of the same subculture.
Yeah but I have to say this is the gayest sense of brotherhood I've ever seen in a sub culture. I've looked into emo like Gray Matter and Fire Party. The only thing I've come to realize is that I don't even like Emotive Hardcore having the word hardcore in it. It sounds nothing real hardcore.
Ha I have heard them. By the way its Bear vs Shark. If I had to pick one emo band (well kind of) I ever thought was okay it would have to be The Get Up Kids.
I mostly like how you have a 14 and 16 year old talking about britney spears and then a 19 year old pops his head in for a chat.
Nobody was talking about Britney Spears. But I think you know that and you're just trying to start a flame war.
I don't even know what a flame war is. I know that no one was talking about britney spears. I just found it funny. Nothing to see here.
