I saw this video on another board, and I decided to post it here.

:Warning: This video is very graphic, but also very powerful and moving. It had me bawling like a baby from start to finish, so you may want to keep the tissue handy..

Turn your speakers up. Feel free to pass it on to everyone you know.

Shameful. On a lighter note, my cat is more aggressive than all the pit bulls I've met. She's just mean because she's a spoiled puffy-puff kitty brat baby though. :) (She's taking her nap on my bed npow; she hisses if I approach.)

Gray and white! I think torti's, calicos, and grays spoil the easiest though. You seriously cannot make her do what she isn't willing to go along with. Originally, I was going to be a good pet owner and take her on walks. I do, but she wants to be carried the whole distance.

I hate what people do to those dogs in dogfights, but I'm still not going anywhere near a pitbull. Not a million pictures of pitbulls with kids will convince me otherwise; it's not that I don't believe they'll be sweet dogs for 999,999 times out of that million... it's that they are so deadly that one other time when they do turn on someone... because they lock their jaws, they are so terribly strong, and they know how to go not for a scratch or even a nasty wound but for the kill.

Not that I trust other big dogs either, I really hate it when I see how many big dogs are running around unleashed and barely, if at all, under control of their owners... but I'm still less afraid they'd go for a kill than just a very unpleasant & painful bite. It's not the statistical risk that they'll bite I'm most concerned about, it's what happens when they do.

My parents own a Great Dane. I understand it's scary to see a 140 lb dog rushing towards you that just might be a biter. I think it might be well worth breeders' time to consider changing the AKC standards for the pitbull in order to breed a less powerful, longer, thinner muzzle/jaw, combined with breeding dogs with a less feisty nature. Just an idea though.

I Think Its Strange How People Dont Even Want To Comment On The Video.....i Posted It On A Diff Site And 54 People Have Watched It, Yet Only 2 People Have Replied. I Dont Get It!
But At Least They Saw It And It Hopefully Made Somewhat Of An Impact On Them, And How They Feel Towards Pits...........
    I Hope Anyways:)

the bite of a pitbull is no stronger than any other dogs.other bigger dogs actually have a stronger bite than a pitbull. whats wrong with pit bulls is what you see in that video and the media ofcoarse

thr video is ok, but I think most people aready know that pit bulls are often trained to fight...

Its pretty obvious that the people who get involved in dog fights are to blame.

What a nasty and poorly written comment, Michael. What do you suggest we do with pitbulls needing homes? I guess we should just kill them all since you find ownership of pitbulls "dumb" and "dorky."

What is that 'key'? I've never heard of it, so it wouldn't do me any good, but I would sure like to know. Pitbulls are not that common here (breeding them is tightly controlled) but I fear that locking jaw... Really I wish any big dog wasn't allowed to roam the streets unleashed and barely-trained, so many people buy a dog because it's 'cool' or because 'everyone has one' or for whatever stupid reason, never look into even the most basic training, don't bother to keep them leashed or under control.. Any idiot can buy any breed or size of dog and won't get into trouble until after that dog has actually attacked someone, but just getting snarled at or getting a dog chasing your bicycle on a public street seems to be considered 'normal'...

Awwww...the video got me into tears.
I worked with putbills in shelters and let me tell you they are a piece of sky.
    Sooo gentle...so caring...
I remember this white female pitbull...she was beaten so bad, that when she arrived to the shelter the doctors realized she was deaf.
My landlord owns a pitbull!...this dog is soooo friendly!
This is WHY I prefer working with animals...

My doggie...on this pic is a cocker spaniel mix...and I can't let ppl ped him, he doesn't like kids or other pets.
So I know how to treat him when he is around other ppl...
So what they say about cocker spaniels is true...but that doesnt include all of them 'course!

    Awww...amazing video

    I love my dogs

    Myranya, please go to www.badrap.org

    I quote from that site:

Don't Pit Bulls have LOCKING JAWS?
No. A pit bull's ability to "lock on" with it's jaws is one WHOPPER of a myth that refuses to let go! The jaws of a pit bull are built just as any other dog's jaw. There's no 'enzyme', no special mechanism that would make a pitbull's jaws 'lock'. They're DOGS, not alligators! What a pit bull does have is strength, tenacity, and determination. When he grasps something he wants to hang onto, his willpower is the glue.

Pitbulls do not "eat babies" any more often than any other breed. Some people like high energy breeds, and pitbulls are high energy. (I can't argue with you if you say they act like they have a combo of ADHD and crack addiction.) No dog inherently "likes to kill stuff." Dogs are pack animals that want to fit into a niche. My parents took care of the neighbor's pitbull for years because otherwise he had nowhere to sleep/eat/rest/play. Do you really think my sixty year old parents give a rat's ass about being cool? For that matter, do you think most people who have a huge emotional attachment to their pets are concerned with being cool? (Sorry, guys, we're NERDS in the eyes of pop culture. :p)

If your friend abused his dogs, well, then yes, I can see where you would think they were very bad pets. You strike me as ignorant and judgemental. Saying pitbulls eat babies is no more intelligent or correct than saying all womyn can't drive or all Native Indians are drunkards. For every vicious pit, I can show you many (don't know how many; Fernanda or Skye would probably know better) stereotypical "nice" breeds of dogs who bite more. Also, if I'm going to listen to anyone about how vicious an animal breed is, I'll look to the professionals on this forum who work with dogs everyday, not the ranters who sound eerily reminiscent like the raving complaints of a child.

I have a pit bull and I was raised with Pit Bull's and it really hurts me that people can be so hurtful towards the breed, and all thanks to ignorance. BLAME THE DEED,NOT THE BREED<--that's a more logical way to look at things.

I've done tons of research on Pit Bulls. The truth is a cocker spaniel is more likely to bite a person before a Pit Bull.. however, they are a protective and eager to please breed, so If some punk is hanging over your fence and abusing/teasing the dog, something is bound to happen (people really need to teach their children not to abuse/tease dogs .. that's the first step in preventing any bites).

People concentrate on pit bull's in the media because it SELLS. People WANT to hear about pit bull horror bite stories more than they'd like to hear about any other breed. There's more interest there, and I wish there wasn't.

Thankfully, most pit bull's are NOT owned by morons who choose to fight/abuse them. Most are owned by responsible, loving people.. but the media and most the public tend to pay attention to the small negative percentage. This is what gives Pit Bull's a bad name. Like I said before, It's ignorance.

    I'm done now.. :)

Hmm i dont see how i have a pit to look cool when i cant even take him out of the apartment cuz pitbulls are not allowed.

they are great dogs with very special traits and more loyal to thier owner than any other dog thats why i have one not to look "kewl" i dont consider higher home insurance cool either
