I rented the original UK series yesterday and watched all the episodes from start to finish. That show is just money!

I had to watch the first few episodes with subtitles. That is a crazy language they speak over there.

I'm suprised Americans actually liked the US version. The show is nothing without Ricky Gervais.

I don't think it is shit in comparison. They are just two different shows. The US version seems more slapstick and in your face kind of humour, while the UK version was much more subtle, which made the characters more believable, and the emotion stuck with the viewer longer. It also had a charm about it that the US version doesn't have IMO.

But I thoroughly enjoy both series.

^The UK version was better but the US version has a certain charm as well. Ricky Gervais was involved in both. Love him and I lvoe you, h.

Was I speaking to you? Bahhhh....

Okay yes, I was. Who else would I be talking to? heh.

and about the "the show would be nothing without ricky gervais" - well he DID coproduce the other version and well, steve carrolll isnt bad.

i do agree that the uk version is MUCH better though. D... you watched the extras dvd? where they talked about why they shut down the uk version so early? it made sense totally but it was kinda sad.. for real.... i get it though.

Yes, I did. I have mixed feelings about them shutting it down so soon. On one hand it makes the series more powerful, on the other hand they robbed us of what could have been several more seasons of a fantastically written and acted series.

    PS - I am "h", am I not?

    You're sooooo many names. :D

Yer the one that originally called me you know... so you rule.

Its good they ended it like that. It was powerful and honestly, it added a depth of real life/actuality/real life to it. Know what I mean?

No I don't think I caught the extras dvd. Why did they stop doing the UK version?

In the UK they apparently (according to them) shut down their shows at their peak that way they never go bad and that was the point.. they wanted to leave it on a high note instead of letting it go down hill and fade out.

Shame cause it was a beautiful show.

Even the song... hacker knows about my downloading of diff. versions of that song:D

But the show stays beautiful cause they cut its cord at the correct time before it can go stale.
