    THE MANNEQUIN’S FAÇADE

    By John Williams[lostinmyowndreams]

    Closet full of mannequins

    Years full of tombstones
    Marked with price tags

    House full of empty things

    A chair bought
    A memory faked
    A bed in a room
    Empty feelings in my stomach
    When thinking about you

    Bathroom full of nothing

    Bottles of masks
    Imported from France
    Fragrances and tones
    Making up
    The mannequin’s façade

    Family room full of tears

    Hollow laughs echoing
    From the photocopies
    Of someone’s family
    Hanging on the walls
    Making up the life
    Of the mannequin

    Closet full of mannequins

    Years full of tombstones
    Marked with price tags

    Chains forged from credit

    Prison made of debt
    Quicksand of bills
    Emptiness full of nakedness

    Closet full of mannequins

    Naked to the world
    Naked in my mind
    Waiting to be dressed
    -End-

Excellent work here... surprised nobody commented on this! The flow is excellent, the imagery's vivid, and there's an emotional edge that kicks in at just the right times... I really liked this piece, thanks for sharing it!

    my favorite part :)
