California drivers react to the most expensive gas in America - Forbes Talk

California travelers stopping by America’s most expensive gas station reacted to the soaring prices and more general inflation gripping U.S. consumers.

“A little insane, right?” one man traveling through Mendocino, a small coastal city in northern California with beautiful views, told Fox News.

Another man agreed.

“It’s a problem,” he said. “The price of everything is going up.”

The forests won't stop burning, and rising gas prices are the least of their problems.

 

Biden's only job is to survive global warming, and leave the petty problems to everyone else.

 

I doubt he or whoever the Dems decide to run again, will survive the landmines to do much about global warming. Then we get Retrumplican dictatorship until we all melt. We should mount that clever cartoon on our walls to remind us of how we let voter stupidity, short sightedness and preoccupation with problems of the day do us in.

 

Donald Duck and the Tea Party could not fight their way out of a wet paper bag. The only reason nobody has begun picking them all off with a sniper riffle, one at a time, is they aren't worth the bullets and effort. The only thing conservatives are good for anymore, is exploiting them for cash, like Fox News. My work shows how to exploit them in every way imaginable, on a budget.

 

I hope you're right, but I'm not optimistic.
Problem is, our system offers a binary choice--Biden or them. Voters tend to be short-sighted, and to hold the incumbent president responsible for all of those landmines--forgetting that his predecessor almost took power after being defeated in the election. Our system tends to over-represent sparsely populated rural states who are conservative by inclination. Ordinarily, the party out of power can expect to pick up seats in the next congressional election, and the Retrumplicans only need to pick up 5. They're already busy trying to rig elections by so-called "anti-fraud" measures, and are in a position to gerrymander like hell. Trump's support remained at a stable 40% throughout most of his presidency, and about i/3 of the voters are cult devotees who would support him if, as he's said, he murdered somebody in the middle of Fifth Avenue.

Donald Duck and the Tea Party represent a steady 1/4 of the country that listens to Fox News and are stupid enough to believe whatever the fuck they want to believe. They are constantly exploited by Fox News, Televangelism, and con artists like Lindell. It's republicans and conservatives that deny global warming. They control the means of production, most of the money / riches of the earth-- the legislators, that make the laws that enable them, the huge corporations , the military, the police forces and they KNOW global warming is a fact, but they are not going to give up control of how the money-etc-is made, or to whom it goes until every last dollar is wrung out of the earth and they ensure that they still have most of it. . They will wait until catastrophe or near catastrophe is upon the world ( as is happening NOW )and that any remedial action taken will be on their terms, regardless of damage done to humanity , the planet and other living organisms. They will make money and keep their power during and after catastrophic events .Most of humanity will be able to do exactly what we're doing now--a big fat NOTHING. Like the republican senator said--( paraphrase) "if you're getting raped and it's already happening--you may as well lie back and enjoy it!!. Feels good, doesn't ti?

But of course the main issue is--are you rushing out to --BUY MORE. BUY MORE NOW!

 

Not all conservatives are as insane as Donald Duck and the Tea Party, and many are starting to believe scientists who claim that the white population has been imploding since the invention of modern birth control, televangelism and the cellphone also reduce lifespans, just like Fox News. I'm so happy for conservatives finally coming to the realization they are killing themselves, with the help of their own academics, that I'm automating the process for them. Facebook and Fox News will be delighted to learn they can kill their own customers even faster, in every way imaginable that makes money.

We Now Know Why Biden Was in a Hurry to Exit Afghanistan

There was a moment in Tuesday’s Senate hearing on the withdrawal from Afghanistan when it became clear why President Joe Biden decided to get the troops out of there as quickly as possible.

It came when Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, explained why he and the other chiefs—the top officers of the Army, Air Force, Navy, and Marines—all agreed that we needed to pull out by Aug. 31. The Doha agreement, which President Trump had signed with the Taliban in early 2020 (with no participation by the Afghan government), required a total withdrawal of foreign forces. If U.S. troops had stayed beyond August, Milley said, the Taliban would have resumed the fighting, and, in order to stave off the attacks, “we would have needed 30,000 troops” and would have suffered “many casualties.”
