First, I know this is the wrong forum for this discussion, but it seems that the most open and intelligent minds colaberate here on the LSD sub forum so. Move it if you want. ______ This is a thread to discuss the human form and the mentality we seem to possess, it's an open discussion about the biggest question of all, how did we come to be? _____ So, as I believe life originated as single celled organisms at the bottom of the ocean (i could go further into detail about this but that's boring). The next thing you know 6 billion years later humans popped up and build some houses and shit. The thing I'm looking to discuss here is how the human psychi came to be, how did we start as a microscopic sac of organs and as the world might have it we can now think and function and have ideas and create things, this is the biggest question I can ask. _____ There's one rule on this thread, all ideas are accepted, noone is wrong and noone is right please remember this. :cheers2:
Well, when Im tripping, I feel like a mix of monkey/reptile sort of species, so yea, ocean bacteria dilute soup burning in the Sun, left out on the stove too long, add some banans in hard to reach trees, and here we are
personally, I think we will never know, and that really it doesn't matter. We could have been dropped off by aliens for all I know. If indeed we came to be by strictly evolution, then that theory still has a lot it needs to account for...
Well, some sort of Univeral Awareness seems to have descended into a collective unconcious and opened up a locked door blocked by matter, and thus matter would have come from thought, and not the other way around. At least that's my experience.
I can see your reasoning if you were to say we were dropped off by aliens, but we have lots of elements in us (specifically carbon) that are very common on this planet and exist in many other creatures on this planet so idk about the aliens theory . either way i dont really care where we came from physically, that's irrelevent. what im talking about is how our consciousness developed, if it developed and was not simply put into animated corpses by a higher intelligence.
Some boilogist and anthropologist think that our brains grew to support abstract thought and "consciousness" from all the protien in the meat that the first humans ate. It also may have been out of plain will to survive. Walking around ass naked, freezing our asses off, with no natural defense like fangs, claws, talons, wings, venom...etc...etc... we needed something so help us stay on a level playing feild. So "mother" nature "gave" us the impetus of reason and abstract thought. But then again, there a a million theories.
this is an interesting idea, but not solid enough to console my thirst for knowledge . simply because i don't understand at what point we went from naked monkeymen eating raw woolymamoth to huamns with the power of rational thought. i just dont understand the biology of the matter. i guess we cant conceive of ourselfs and thats really the problem.
I submit that consciousness never came about. It's something that's always been there and in fact the one thing that pre-dated everything. The first amino acid proteins were a result of a consciousness, a collective awareness hungry to expand it's universal knowledge by depositing itself into isolated, organic molecules and creatures. It expanded its awareness as the organisms evolved into reptiles and mammals, the friction and harmonies and equilibriums of the creatures added to the universal one's understanding. Eventually it manifested itself into what we would call prehuman primates like homo habilus, cro magnon, etc. And somewhere in there the entity was able to ebody itself into our current state, to rationalize and conceptualize and also to have heartache and passion and ecstasy, all very intriguing things to the universal one. THere's that whole missing link thing which I think is just a result of a spontaneous enlightening of the earth's species, such as via torsion energy waves from the center of the galaxy. Supposedly it happens every 26,000 years and some say will happen in 2012. It's obvious that there's no end to evolution. We haven't finished evolving and never will, because of the universal one's need to expand its understanding through embodied experiences. To say evolution ceases is also to say existence will cease. Nothing is stagnate and nothing is perfect. The better we live and the more aware we are, the more energy and info we are feeding the collective awareness, and the more energy that awareness proffers upon us. Obviously I speak in superlative abstracts. no one can satisfy himself with any such declarations except to create more questions, as is the natural state of the universal one
Astonishing. (<== is that a real word, its looks strange?) This is the kindof answer I was looking for, and I can honestly say, wether or not you just made that up that's an amazing fucking theory and in 4 years i will decide wether or not I believe you fully. For the time being that nearly seals the deal. Not just because that's a good answer but because I like that answer I would like to think that's the truth.
all the elements that make up our planet make up the other planets as well. i think the sun is roughly 70% hydrogen and 30% helium and small ammounts of nitrogen and carbon. hell, we are made from the same elements. i think we're all made from stars in all seriousness tho, i dont really believe we evolved from single cell organisms. i read somewhere that it would be impossible to evolve an eye from a single cell organism. who knows. another interesting point, matter can neither be created or destroyed. so the same elements that existed at the beginning of the universe are what we are made out of today.
Your first statment is true and I don't know why i was stupid enough to say otherwise eryler . But I have to disagree with "I read somewhere" just have an opinion and let it be your own . Aliens could well be the answer but that doesn't tell us where the aliens came from. Love your sig btw. Midget getting his face smashed, ouch lol.
i edited that post btw. i actually read that in a science magazine..did i say in that post that i believed it? (notice: the "who knows" after i said it?) i don't believe we came here from aliens either. i just said i'd have an easier time believing it. its all irrelevent to me. my honest opinion is that it really doesn't matter where we came from. yeah crazy midgets...hehe.
haha did anyone watch the 6 billion dollar experiment on the discovery channel?? this question was basically the entire basis for this show. it was pretty mind blowing and had answers for some crazy shit.. apparantly theres a whole other periodic table of the most basic substances whichhad evolved into todays elements, so they just kept searching and searching try to find smaller things since "everything literally came from nothing" and they go as small down as energy and magnetic fields which created all matter. definetly a must watch**
jared, I haven't seen that any idea what show that is I'd love to look it up. Also I quoted your sig on my myspace i like it so much lol its very valid. CHAIN, ok well since you specify a magizene i will call myself as being wrong, i thought you were just trying to have no attachment to what you were saying (which you were in a way). but i evny your ability not to fucking care at all because this is really bugging me.
it could just be a part of evolution; survival of the fittest...even back when there were only single cell organisms...the ones that had more "awareness" say could "sense" nutrients, threats, etc better and lived and reproduced..............................eventually the primates with higher conciousness, maybe even emotions like love were possibly conferred with an advantage and therefore they had more offspring which eventually developed into us. just like the first eyes were small eye spots, then they developed into fully functional masses of cells that are our eyeballs. the first conciences were primitive and developed more and more along the evolutionary road.
i dont really want any attachment to what i was saying because i dont know if its true or not. it shouldnt be bugging you so much..you can spend your whole life wondering how you got here. and not get any closer. that doesnt make sense to me. take everything with a grain of salt. especially questions like this, imho.
well its not like im obsessed with it, life will go on . but its very interesting and id like to find out before my life ends whever that may be
well I did sorta piece it together on my own from many written sources as well as my own personal observations and meditations, but it is by no means original or unique. actually I think the truest ideas on the earth are also the oldest ideas. I seem to measure the veracity of something according to 3 internal mechanisms. there's been many definitions of them (chakras, chi energy). I just call them my head, my heart, and my gut. When all 3 of those are equally satisified I feel I've discovered universal truth.
