Definitely a great flick! i'm a fan of anything vincent price did - masque of the red death, theatre of blood, conqueror wyrm, etc.....but man, those Phibes movies rock! i did see the remake - was like a totally different flick than the original, so i think it was freaky good in its own right
I have it on DVD and today is would be considered camp. However, I did see it in theater when it first came out. Back then they were into gimmicks, such as vibrating theater seats with "Tingler." This movie had a glowing skeleton fly thru the darkened theater in the scene where Vincent is using that device to raise it out of the acid. It was lame even to a kid back then. You had to want to be scared. BTW, check out my high school picture: Yeah, I know I was cute, but check out who made the pic. It is the same Vincent Price. He was into photography and opened studios across the country. This one in St. Louis. I thought that was kinda cool to have our high school pix made by Vincent Price.
man, what a priceless treasure!!! (oops, no pun intended, but it was kinda funny) really though, that is too cool for you! .....does anyone here have a copy of Vince's cookbook that he wrote?
