‘What a stupid question’: Trump demeans three black female reporters in three days
    By Paul Farhi
    November 9 at 5:22 PM

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.74523bc33747

    excerpt:

"Phillip, a CNN reporter and former Washington Post journalist, drew Trump’s wrath on Friday, after she asked whether he hoped Matthew G. Whitaker, Trump’s appointee as acting attorney general, would “rein in” special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s probe of Trump’s presidential campaign.

“What a stupid question that is. What a stupid question,” Trump snapped. He didn’t answer the allegedly “stupid” question, but he did pour more contempt on Phillip. “I watch you a lot,” he said. “You ask a lot of stupid questions.”

He suggested he was considering pulling other reporters’ press credentials to cover the White House, as he did with CNN reporter Jim Acosta on Wednesday. Among those he brought up in that context was Ryan."

They want to put a happy face on it but the world knows what they did to Jamal. Erdogan just gave the audio tape to the UK, Germany, France, USA, and even to Saudi Arabia. I don't see how they will sweep it under the rug?

‘Real low energy’: Critics pile on after Trump cancels visit to U.S. military cemetery outside Paris
By David Nakamura , Seung Min Kim and James McAuley
    November 9, 2018

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...7ded04d8fac_story.html?utm_term=.016f7531fca2

    excerpts:

"In the two years since his election, Trump has not visited troops in an active war zone — an attempt to make a surprise visit to the Korean demilitarized zone in November 2017 was aborted when Marine One was forced to turn around due to bad weather.

“Real low energy, @realDonaldTrump to not bother to honor the sacrifice of American soldiers in WWI due to some rain. Somehow everyone else was able to do so today. Obama never had this problem. He also visited our troops in war zones,” Kelly Magsamen, who served as a high-ranking Pentagon official on Asia affairs, wrote on Twitter.

The Peace Forum was intended “a bit as a counterpoint to ‘America First, Wright said, referring to Trump’s nationalist foreign policy in which he has unsettled allies on trade and defense. “Now they have this weird situation of Trump being there [in Paris] but the forum going against everything he and [National Security Adviser John] Bolton stand for. My impression is that he’s going to pretend like it’s not happening.”"

That's nearly the same amount of money that Trump was ordered to pay in the Trump University case that he lost. Trump also called Trump University 'a first class organization' and scammed his customers.

Trump deliberately showed up late for the women's empowerment breakfast portion of the G7 summit and interrupted everyone as he entered. This time he's going to leave France early to ignore the peace forum portion of the WW1 commemoration (in addition to snubbing people for not showing up at the cemetery event, apparently due to rain).

Trump could always send war hawk (chickenhawk) John Bolton to the peace meeting portion of the France trip as a snub, similar to how G.W. Bush made Bolton the U.S. ambassador to the UN.

John Bolton, Trump’s New War Consigliere, Dodged The ‘Already Lost’ Vietnam War
    By Adam Weinstein
    on March 26, 2018

    https://taskandpurpose.com/john-bolton-trumps-new-war-consigliere-dodged-already-lost-vietnam-war/

    excerpt:

"Shorter John Bolton: I totally would’ve gone to fight the war I publicly advocated, but it was going to be lost anyway, and I didn’t want to die, like the 9,500-plus Americans who went in my stead and died between 1970 and the fall of Saigon. Now buy my book, Surrender Is Not An Option, which explains why we need war with Iran and North Korea.

With hawks like these, it’s amazing we haven’t lost more wars. But with Bolton coordinating White House security strategy, there are likely to be plenty of new chances to lose. Not for him, obviously; just for the troops he supports so dearly, at a safe remove."

To point out the obvious you attack individuals not the establishment and its bag of tricks.

Jounalist April Ryan of American Urban Radio Network gave a succinct assessment of Trump not being emotionally equipped to handle the office.

    https://www.washingtonpost.com/life...ory.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.d666a0a8c30a

    excerpt:

"Trump has disparaged many people, so his responses to Phillip, Ryan and Alcindor might simply reflect equal-opportunity contempt. But all three of the latest examples fall into the categories of people — journalists, women, African Americans — for whom Trump has reserved special nastiness. Among the African American figures are Democratic Reps. Maxine Waters of California and Frederica S. Wilson of Florida.

“He’s not able to finesse his disdain for certain people,” Ryan said in an interview Friday. “Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately because you can see for yourself what it is, perception is reality with this president. He attacks the people he feels are beneath him.”

She added, “He’s not apparently built for this. Being in the pressure cooker of the White House has exposed him for what he is.”"

Trump is still doing his Rodney Dangerfield 'I never get any respect' act.

Trump's remark at the outdoor gathering with journalists conducted during the noise of the helicopter before he left for France:

"When you're in the White House, this is a very sacred place to me. It's a very special place. You have to treat the White House with respect. You have to treat the presidency with respect."

Schiff comments on Trump's embrace of dictators and the rise of authoritarianism in the world.

House Democrats Want to Investigate Trump's Foreign Policy
A divided Congress means that House Democrats will take more of an investigative posture than a legislative one.
    Uri Friedman

House Democrats Want to Investigate Trump's Foreign Policy - The Atlantic

    excerpt:

"Nevertheless, one larger ambition for Democrats in the House will be to present an alternative to the president’s America First vision. Schiff, for example, pointed to the challenges that rising authoritarianism is posing to liberal democracy everywhere from Brazil to Hungary to Turkey and the Philippines.

“This rise of authoritarianism is one of the most serious national-security threats facing the country,” Schiff argued. “We have a president who makes common cause with autocrats and has made the United States unrecognizable to a lot of our allies. I think it’s going to be vitally important that Congress step into the void and become the champion of democracy and human rights, because that role’s been abdicated by the president.”"

Trump is making more baseless claims.

Arizona is known for being careful in counting votes which is why it is taking time. Hundreds of thousands of votes were mailed and signatures are checked for validity.

Trump should be praising AZ instead of invoking conspiracy rhetoric.

Trump Cries Fraud as a Democrat Pulls Ahead in Arizona
Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema has picked up a slight lead over Republican Martha McSally—so naturally, Trump is calling for a new election.

Trump Cries Fraud as a Democrat Pulls Ahead in Arizona

    excerpt:

"In Florida, where Democrats Bill Nelson and Andrew Gillum are still gaining votes in Broward County, Donald Trump is essentially demanding that the vote-counting be stopped, a recount prevented, and everyone move on with their lives. But different states require different approaches to ensure the outcome Republicans desire. For instance, in Arizona, where Democratic Senate candidate Kyrsten Sinema now appears to be leading her opponent, Republican Martha McSally, Trump is calling for a new election entirely.

Other Trump minions took up the cry. “These democrat counties in Florida and Arizona are playing tricks because they just can’t accept the fact they lost,” tweeted Trump campaign manager Brad Parscale. “I will not be shocked if investigations lead to rampant fraud.” Of course, neither Parscale nor Trump offered any evidence to support their insinuations of Democratic criminality. Rather, both seem to be following a playbook that the Republican Party appears increasingly comfortable using in elections where the vote count has been close: dispute the results if you don’t like them, strenuously object to the established processes in place to accurately count ballots, and attempt to suppress the vote whenever possible."

Trump snubbed veterans and others by not showing up for the WWI cemetery event in France. Then he comes home and snubs the fire responders and people who died in the wildfires in California.

He snubbed the women's empowerment session at the G7 by deliberately arriving late and interrupting the session.

He belittled the death of the tenant who died in his Trump Tower fire by not mentioning him and praised Trump Tower for supposedly being very fireproof.

He debased the students in the Florida school mass shooting by using the incident to demean the FBI by saying it would have prevented the shooting if it wasn't spending time on the Mueller investigation.

Insulted the death of McCain by not mentioning him and raising the flag at the White House when it is customary to keep it lowered until interment. The White House later lowered it again after complaints from veterans.

Based on his behavior in France over the weekend, Trump is the kind of person who would do a PR stunt of initially saying he would attend a service for the victims of the California fires but then not show up because of rain, blame the weather forecasters, and threaten to cut off money for NOAA if the forecasters don't straighten up their act.

I'm glad Trump got rid of Sessions. I totally called it too.

Didn't think he'd can him until deep into his 2nd term though.
