I say bus stop (but applause to 7 year itch and gentlemen prefer blondes esp.)
because she really does act so well, she doesnt lose her accent like reese witherspoon in sweet home alabama, and she's SO FUCKING ADORABLE lol

The hardest decision in my life (well, not really) Seven Year Itch, or Gentlemen Prefer Blondes? I don't know too many from vol. 1 of the diamond collection, I know all of vol. 2 because my library has them all! ;) But I chose Gentlemen Prefer Blondes because I love Jane Russell and I love "A'int There Anyone Here For Love?" especially the part everyone seemed to notice but the director when one of the dancers screws up and is out of synch for a while... everybody I've seen it with has pointed it out. How embarrassing. Heehee! Also, Marilyn is fabulous in Gentlemen, (better than the Lorelai in the book!) Especially the scene with the boy and Piggy! ho-ho!

But Seven Year Itch was HILARIOUS. Tom Ewell rocks hard, and I'm searching for a copy of "The Girl Can't Help It" because he's so funny. Marilyn does a great job in that movie, but the focus is more on Tom, which is why I like Gentlemen... better as a "Marilyn Movie"
    but I love 'em all!

ahh but lindiglo, dont you feel that tom's stage acting came across too strong for a feature film? I totally felt like I was watching him from the audience at a play theatre... his monologues and such.,. I mean, I know he had to say those lines, but it felt too live to me...

we're just two girls from little rock is an awesome song from g.p.b lol, I prefer it to aint there anyone here for love just because I dont like jane's random badminton/tennis rackets.... lol

Haha I've never been a huge fan of her racket moves, either, but that song is good fun. I love Bye, Bye, Baby from that movie. Man, that woman can start a song-and-dance number with any old group of men! God bless her!

As for Tom Ewell, yeah, the monologues were more Broadway than Hollywood, but I still liked them. Sometimes that can be a very negative quality in a movie, but I felt it worked in 7yI. I'm having trouble imagining it without it's stagelike qualities. (The Rachmaninoff(sp) during some of his monologues is something very theatrical, but it works, so I don't know how it could be made more "movielike" though I do know the starting credits are too small to see on a small screen, but that's unrelated, I suppose) (For another example of obvious Broadway-to-Hollywood adaptation, see A Raisin in the Sun. It's only about 3 sets, and you can tell it was previously on stage)

those were only half of the diamond collection. my favorite is actually Don't Bother To Knock. I think it was her best perfomance, that and her in The Misfits, but that isn't in the Diamond Collection.

I really love Marilyn tho. She's my favorite actress. I relate to her on many levels. (except i can't act and have a small chest)

Actually, it's only 1/3 of the Diamond Collection, they released more! Yay!
I love Don't Bother to Knock, but from the second set my favourite is probably Let's Make Love. I think I'm the only person on the planet who digs that movie.
You're like me! I always say, "I can really relate to James Dean, though I'm a girl, untalented, and not a Sex God of all Sex Gods."
