It's Alpine, one of their favorite venues, so I know they'll pull out some surprises. Plus they'll be refreshed since it'll be early in their second leg of summer tour (St. Louis is the only show before that). I really can't wait. It's gonna be magical.

Dead tickets are $20 for lawn right now at ticketmaster.com *~*~*~* They will be on sale for $20 on the phone and at your local ticketmaster location on Saturday *~*~* This is for Alpine Valley only *~*~* I just bought 2 tickets and the total was $46 :)

I plan on going to the Alpine Valley show with DrDooblittle. This will be my first time seeing the Dead play. I was just wondering, for those who have seen them live recently, do they just do instrumentals (with Jerry being dead and all, RIP)? Or do they sync to pre-recorded vocals or something?

No, the whole band sings. Bobby still sings his tunes. Mickey and Phil sing some of Jerry's parts. Warren Haynes is playing with the band now and he does most of Jerry's parts. He does an excellent job!!

alpine isn't general admission? I figured any ticket and you could wander as close as you want? No?

Tiki*~ No alpine is not totally general admission. There are pavillion seats up front. They get actual seats and an awning to sit under. The rest of Alpine is on a big hill. That is the general admission part.
