Lesh confirms that another reunion by the surviving members of the Dead is in the talking stages for summer. "There are all kinds of irons in the fire," he said, "and the fire is heating slowly." http://ledger.southofboston.com/articles/2006/02/16/life/life05.txt well its time for me to start saving, if this happens ill be goin on tour for sure.
That's really cool. I saw them in the summer of '04 and had a great time. I'd LOVE to see them again and again.
thats too bad, because haynes with the dead is a treat to be cherished....it probably won't happen again....it will be good though to see the Dead as the Dead. i can't wait! i hope they do new years in oakland again....it was fucking brilliant 03-04.....oh it was good! they played "born crosseyed"!!!! that is one of my favorite [and very rare] songs.....
is the dead still good after all these years? If I hear that they are good then I gess i'll try to go.
Warren is the only person I want to see singing Jerry tunes with the surviving memebers - he's the only one I've seen due the balads justice. I was at the last Dead show they played in Atlanta 04 - Warren was INCREDIBLE on Black Muddy River and Morning Dew.
of course they were. We're freaking Deadheads! It's what we do. never believe the starry eyed "it was Jerry so it was great" kind of claptrap.
I don't know man, it just didn't feel right. I prefer Jimmy Herring's leads. [yeah, his voice is amazing, i'll give him that!]
fuck class. there once in a life time experiences, and that is a jam show. they are like a sandy beach....it will never be the same the next time you see it.
Shine On brothers and sisters! Phil still has a tremedous amount of magic and he brings it when he plays. I saw the shows in Hot'Lanta at the Fox. First night was a great show - Had I not had anything to compare to I would have said it probably was one of the better shows that I had seen -Great renditions with the new line-up - by nights end they were actually there. Night 2 - Sheer magic from 1st note - The music played the band- Phil danced the whole night- Grateful Dead music is still the stuff -GO see it everychance you get. And don't be mislead Warren is a gift anytime he plays he is love just as Jerry was love - Jimmys great but WH gives his soul to the music with whoever he is playing with. Warren is a Deadhead,a ABB, a Mule- Hell Roger Waters should call him up and take out a real Pink Floyd- We shouild be so lucky as to have Warren back in the Dead. No matter what the lineup- Save my seat on the bus- Love Thats Real Will Not Fade Away!
