I thought it was mildly entertaining the first time I saw it, but don't see it twice. The second time I saw it, I couldn't ignore all the stupid, completely illogical or impossible stuff. Also, the CG wolves were TERRIBLY done.
Its a great concept and there is a tiny (yet still there) bit of scientific backing it up. I thought the graphics were great but the rest of the story was like any other "save the world from a force that we can't control" movie. Who wants to go out for a coffee?
That's the first thing I noticed, it was really obvious they were digital. As for the rest of the movie, even though things did seem impossible, I still liked it!
I liked the concept but there should have been more detail and more realistic explanations. And what the hell happened in the end? Why did it just stop suddenly? I think it would have been better if they had put more of a real scientific spin on it and the guys in the satellite think should have been the only characters left. I was surprised that with all the destruction that would have caused, they didn't appeal to the audiances heart more with all the death. It would have been much more moving.
yeah but that was the only scene. Think of how many more people would have dies if that was real. It didn't move me like I thought it should. Plus, did you think the scene where water rushing into NYC was completely unrealistic? I mean, most of the movie was, but water moves a hell of a lot faster than that. Like once those kids saw the wave, they would have been washed away. I don't know. I was just dissapionted in the whole thing.
I guess it would've been nice if it had been more realistic, but I wasn't really expecting anything when I went into the theater, so I enjoyed it
That's good. I'm glad that someone enjoyed it! I should have watched it with out a lot of huge expectations!! Good for you for being positive! YOu just lifted my crabby mood and made me relax!! I know that sounds stupid, beacause this topic is pretty irrelevant to real life, but when you are surrounded by negativity, you need to hear a laid back opinion to get you in the right mind set!! Thanks!!!
I watched it on my plane ride to Cali. I was looking foward to seein it when it hit theatres....I thought the previews for it were awesome. However it was a huge let down n my opinion. The wolve scene was lame. The movie seemed like Independence Day without the aliens.
I thought it was alright - jake is always a bonus, and the movie was good for a laugh. The wolf scene though - that was just silly. I mean wtf was the point?
The part that stuck out for me as the most ludicrous is when the two people had to walk (I think it was from Philadelphia) all the way across NJ and into New York City. First off, there is almost no chance of them making it, and definately not in the amount of time that they did. Secondly, what the hell was that tent made out of? All they talked about was how cold it was - how anyone who wasn't standing next to a fire would freeze to death instantly - but they seemed nice and cozy inside of that tent. I agree with everyone else about the computer graphics... the wolves, the extremely slow moving wave, etc... bad movie.
i did love the irony of americans fleeing to mexico though...and also that the wooden door saved all the people..it was great
It was exactly what I expected, a disater movie with plenty of bad acting and plot holes. Good effects, and thats all that really matters for a movie like that...
