wow finally someone who agrees with me that they rock! Almost everyone i have talked to and asked has said aww nah theyre crap, theyre rip offs etc etc. I personally think the darkness are the best. They are just so funky and cool and so......80's! Do you have their album? i do and i think its the best one in my collection. They are such a wicked band. bunny
If you want a band that sounds like it is from the 80s, listen to a band that is really from the 80s.
theyre just bringing the 80s back to us, i don't feel like arguing your taste in music tonight i do have their album, its awesome!
Why would we want the past? I love the early 90s alt. movement, but I realize it's dead and done. I'd rather move on and hear a new sound than listen to the same old shit.
They were really great live, I mean, the best act really of the Big Day Out Festival, thats against Jet The Sleepy Jackson, Kings of Leon, The Datsuns and Metallica, not to mention the Strokes They put on by far the best show and they were the only band who had the crowd chanting their name before they came on
I am not a fan of theirs. I dont like their music....there is nothing new or interesting or different about them in my opinion. Actually that guy's vocals are like nails to a chalkboard for me. But alot of people do like them. Anyway, thats my opinion.
I've never been a glamrock fan and probably wont ever buy a cd of these guys but after seeing them live i must say that they know how to put on a great show. they are having a great time on stage and the audience loves every minute of it so i don't see why people have to put them down... It's only rock n roll!
don't think so.... it's almost hilarious how other bands try to copy the Darkness! I saw a Van Halen vid earlier this week and David Lee Roth made a fool of himself with his poor imitation of Justin.:$
Oh jeez, if I hear The Darkness one more freaking time I'm going to scream. I ahte it with a passion and I think its the dumbest sounding music I have ver heard! No offence at all to anyone who likes them, I just hate it.
If someone likes The Darkness thats their opinion but these guys know that they are pushing a gimmick and that their music is a joke, literally. With the screaming 80's metal band vocals and the outrageous videos, these guys are happy to be where they are and I assure you they know why. Their music is popular for its humor value. There is no reason to be defensive about it because I firmly believe they would tell you the very same thing if they spoke to you straight up. I say roll with it if its what you like.
I bought the CD a while ago and I was very pleased with it. Great guitar solo's and a fun CD to listen too. I think they are great and i'd love to see them live. I'd have to say that they were better then expected for me.
I can't really hear the 80's influences.. It's more like a crossbreed between early Queen and Thin Lizzy. I love 'em mostly because I can't fucking stand most of the punk and metal crap that's called "rock" today.
I just heard one song of them and I think that´s a great one. And the singer with the pink hair and princess crown ...haha, great. They´re so much fun.
