in my opinion, yes, yes it did. extremely poorly written, the mcdonald's of books... no wonder it made bestseller, i bet a 2 year old could read that garbage. and everyone i see reading a book lately, is reading the da vinci code, i swear. it's sort of eerie...

on a lighter note though, some of the concepts and theories brought up in the book were very interesting, and were the only things keeping me from chucking it out the window. too bad they couldn't have been incorporated into a better novel though.
    what does anyone else think?

I haven't read it, myself, but all of the people that I know liked it very much. Of course, all of their compliments involved the theories in the book- not the plot.

exactly.....that is what his point is to bring out possible conspiracy theories, not to particularly get you involved in a plot. it is all written in a sort of researchy way. the plot and dialogue wasnt really all that in my opinion. however, i still walked away thinking it was excellent and my head was reeling for days with the theories

It was rather shallow, didn't cover the many of the points of the theories it was drawing from.

Okay for an intro to this stuff.

I think it was off on the wrong tangent. I think there is more evidence that JC never existed at all.

Well, I did'nt read the book. Nothing about it really apealed to me. The girl that sat in front of me in history class was reading it, and she's a bimbo. I'm probably never going to read that book.

I have not read the book, but I feel like I have since my mom did and felt the need to tell me everything in it that she found fascinating. Wait... I actually read the first chapter I remember, but it basically seemed like all the regular dramatic contemporary Mary Higgins Clark, wine-drinking cultured souls with a dark side blah blah... yeah.

You say that it was supposed to be just a platfom for his conspiracy theories, but, it's not like they're his theories, or that they've never been written about before, or are new in any way.

And most of all, for someone writing a book centered on art, you should KNOW that the artist's name is LEONARDO not Da Vinci, which means FROM Vinci, as in, there are lots of Leonardos in Italy in the 1500s who don't happen to be geniuses, so you wouldn't want to accidentally commission them, so you clarify by saying, the Leonardo FROM THE LITTLE TOWN CALLED VINCI. IT"S NOT HIS NAME YOU FUCKING FUCKING IDIOT DAN BROWN; WHAT, THE "FROM VINCI" CODE????? YOU FUCKING FUCKING IDIOT.

Yeah.... okay you can disregard that. Sorry. It just... pisses me off. :) I'm better now, don't worry I won't actually track Mr. Brown down and cram the Virgin of the Rocks down his throat. Hmm.

It was a really good book, I liked the ending too. I havent had a chance to read Angels and Demons but hopefully I'll be able to get my hands on that book too.

I thought it was a great read. Dan Brown knows how to keep the suspense and intrigue going. "Angels and Demons" is also a good book, I suggest that book before reading "The DaVinci Code".

The whole strengh of the book is the historical information, the facts, the symbolism...

The story itself was SHIT, yet...admit it...without it the book would sounds like a textbook...

other than that... there was a thread about this book already... you could have posted that there... search before posting.
