Once again someone has made the statement the Bible contradicts it self. Okay, one at a time what are they? And please at least start with one I’ll have think about.
yeah I know, Another example: A man dies and leaves behind his mother, his wife and two sisters. According to what Mohammed has stated in Koran 4:11-12 and 4:176 the mother will receive 1/3 of the property, the wife will receive 1/4 of the property and the sisters will receive 2/3 of the property. Let us add up the fractions again: 1/3 + 2/3 + 1/4 = 5/4 = 1.25 and once again it adds up to more than the available property. oppps wrong book...
The attainments of truth is possible only when self is recognized as an illusion.. Righteousness can be practised only when we have freed our mind from passions of egotism.. Perfect peace can dwell only where all vanity has disappeared.. Christ wasnt a consumer was he? He had to eat or did he cheat all the time and make food appear?. You ever think they killed him cause he was cornering the fish market and the whole bible story is just a cover up?
I got nothing... 40 imperfect men from all walks of life, written over a span of 1600 years..you would figure there would be tons of contradictions..
Thou shalt not kill and Love thy Neighbour, core christian teachings I am told, yet christians still say they are justified to wage "holy war" and kill millions. That to me is hypocrisy. Christianity is a mass of contradictions, ones that have done so much harm over the years.
Only because people won't think before they act on behalf of God... something I get really tired of seeing. I bet He does, too. :toetap05:

I already was amazed in my childhood by the contradictions in the stories of the apostles. Just compare the different ways of Jesus' ressurrection for example. This is not a biblical contradiction. I also wonder how many christians really still say and think those wars are justified.

Although Christians are to be warriors waging a spiritual war against Satan and his demons, it is to be fought with spiritual weapons not fleshly ones, so anyone waging a “holy war” using fleshly weapons is as you say, is hypocritical and not a true Christian. (Ephesians 6:11-13) Jesus said that here would be two groups that would call themselves Christian. One group he would call his brothers and the other group to which he would say; get away from me you workers of lawlessness. So I would say those who have done so much harm are of the group that Jesus called workers of lawlessness and are the ones who have not followed Jesus or his instructions. (Matthew 7:15-23)
You got me on this one. No, I've never though of that one before and it is more likely to have happened than some of the other stories of Jesus I've heard.
Thanks for your posts but I did say one at a time and also a brief note why you believe it’s a contradiction would nice. The reason is so many times people just cut and paste from some other source and they usually have no idea why any of them are even suppose to be a contradiction. So if you have one that you feel particularly shows the Bible is contradictory, please share that one and if you wish to discuss them all, fine just do it one at a time.
If four people are looking at the same house, one from each side and described only what they saw, what would be the chances the they would say exactly the same thing? And yet none would be lying and although all the description would be different they would not be contradictory. If you would like more detail. If you could be more specific about the differences of the descriptions of Jesus’ resurrection that you feel are contradictory, I will be happy to try and provide more detail.
Actually there are several, depending on how you count. Genesis 1:1 - recounts the creation of the whole universe including the earth. Genesis 1:2-2:4 - This recounts the preparation of an already created Earth for human habitation and also the creation of man and this is from the view point of some one standing on the earth when it happened Genesis 2:5-25 – This recounts the details of the creation of Adam and Eve, from the view point of someone who was standing there when it happened. Together, it seems like a well rounded account and nothing particularly contradictory.
Okay let me look it up and see if I can find what you might be talking about but it would be easier if you could be more specific, Now if you put the four accounts together, this is what happened at the time of Jesus’ resurrection: Early Sunday morning Mary Magdalene and Mary the mother of James, along with Salome, Joanna, and other women, bring spices to the tomb to treat Jesus’ body. En route they say to one another: “Who will roll the stone away from the door of the memorial tomb for us?” But on arriving, they find that an earthquake has occurred and Jehovah’s angel has rolled the stone away. The guards are gone, and the tomb is empty! When the women find Jesus’ tomb empty, Mary Magdalene runs off to tell Peter and John. However, the other women evidently remain at the tomb. Soon, an angel appears and invites them inside. Here the women see yet another angel, and one of the angels says to them: “Do not you be fearful, for I know you are looking for Jesus who was impaled. He is not here, for he was raised up, as he said. Come, see the place where he was lying. And go quickly and tell his disciples that he was raised up from the dead.” So with fear and great joy, these women also run off. By this time, Mary has found Peter and John, and she reports to them: “They have taken away the Lord out of the memorial tomb, and we do not know where they have laid him.” Immediately the two apostles take off running. John is fleeter of foot—evidently being younger—and he reaches the tomb first. By this time the women have left, so no one is around. Stooping down, John peers into the tomb and sees the bandages, but he remains outside. When Peter arrives, he does not hesitate but goes right on in. He sees the bandages lying there and also the cloth used to wrap Jesus’ head. It is rolled up in one place. John now also enters the tomb, and he believes Mary’s report. But neither Peter nor John grasps that Jesus has been raised up, even though He had often told them that He would be. Puzzled, the two return home, but Mary, who has come back to the tomb, remains. In the meantime, the other women are hurrying to tell the disciples that Jesus has been resurrected, as the angels commanded them to do. While they are running along as fast as they can, Jesus meets them and says: “Good day!” Falling at his feet, they do obeisance to him. Then Jesus says: “Have no fear! Go, report to my brothers, that they may go off into Galilee; and there they will see me.” Earlier, when the earthquake occurred and the angels appeared, the soldiers on guard were stunned and became as dead men. Upon recovering, they immediately went into the city and told the chief priests what had happened. After consulting with the “older men” of the Jews, the decision was made to try to hush up the matter by bribing the soldiers. They were instructed: “Say, ‘His disciples came in the night and stole him while we were sleeping.’” Since Roman soldiers may be punished with death for falling asleep at their posts, the priests promised: “If this [report of your falling asleep] gets to the governor’s ears, we will persuade him and will set you free from worry.” Since the size of the bribe was sufficiently large, the soldiers did as they were instructed. As a result, the false report about the theft of Jesus’ body became widely spread among the Jews. Mary Magdalene, who remains behind at the tomb, is overcome by grief. Where could Jesus be? Stooping forward to look into the tomb, she sees the two angels in white, who have reappeared! One is sitting at the head and the other at the foot of where Jesus’ body had been lying. “Woman, why are you weeping?” they ask. “They have taken my Lord away,” Mary answers, “and I do not know where they have laid him.” Then she turns around and sees someone who repeats the question: “Woman, why are you weeping?” And this one also asks: “Whom are you looking for?” Imagining this person to be the caretaker of the garden in which the tomb is situated, she says to him: “Sir, if you have carried him off, tell me where you have laid him, and I will take him away.” “Mary!” the person says. And immediately she knows, by the familiar way he speaks to her, that it is Jesus. “Teacher!” she exclaims. And with unbounded joy, she grabs hold of him. But Jesus says: “Stop clinging to me. For I have not yet ascended to the Father. But be on your way to my brothers and say to them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.’” Mary now runs to where the apostles and fellow disciples have gathered. She adds her account to the report that the other women have already given about seeing the resurrected Jesus. Yet, these men, who did not believe the first women, apparently do not believe Mary either. Sorry that it's so long but I could not be more specific without more detail from you.
