Siouxsie and the banshee's cover of Helter Skelter blows me a way.

I am not a fan of cover songs. Some are ok, but nothing ever compares to the original to me. What I truly despise are bands who rely on cover songs and hardly make any music of their own. Where is the creativity?

i agree, but many 60's bands used covers to fill an lp because they only had one or two hits. But you are right Lunar, where is the creativity.

Where is the creativity? are you kidding? Most artists put their on spin on a cover, I suppose one could consider that to be creative. But, why do people need to be overly creative when they're paying homage to their influences?

Jane's Addiction's cover of Sympathy for the Devil is quite good too. it's on their "live" album.

Metallideth, I was directing that more towards bands that depend on cover songs for all of their work and hardly make any music of their own.

If bands actually cover songs in a decent, fun, and creative way, I have no problem. Dark Star Orchestra is good, and I do like them. I just cannot stand some of these bands that cover every song out there in such a poor way. Hearing classic songs brutalized is not fun. Korn's "Another Brick in the Wall" is an example of a classic song cover gone wrong.

The Cure's cover of Purple haze is also pathetic. I'm always interested in covers by the way, except if I already dislike the band who covers. Wouldn't be interested in a cover by Korn anyway
I have some albums by bands that only consists of covers (yet they aren't only a coverband) and I love it. Check out Baby Woodrose - Drop out for example. :)

I also think Garage Inc. is the best thing Metallica did after Master of Puppets, haha!

Oh, trust me, I am not interested in Korn's music at all. I stumbled upon that one due to my friend's raving about it, which I did not understand [IMG]. I actually watched a live performance of it on Youtube. It was not a pleasant experience, to say the least.

    how is this brilliant?
it sounds nearly the same... 'cept the stupid choppiness

Agony Scene's Paint It Black is awesome
as is Children of Bodom's Final Countdown
and Guns N Roses' Ain't It Fun
and I'm also a sucker for Joe Cocker's Maybe I'm Amazed
but Jimi Hendrix' All Along the Watchtower, ALWAYS wins this

Slipknot is another band I cannot stand! Slipknot and Korn = booo :(:(:(! Oh, and I would rather see Korn on Youtube because I can just throw my computer out of the window, so beat that .

Children of Bodom never did The Final Countdown. The band you're looking for is Norther.
