The band RUSH!

Yeah its an awesome band, although i dont share the opinion of Peart being the greatest drummer. I think he is really good but i prefer Colaiuta, Donati, Chambers or Weckl. Those 4 are the best ones right now in my own opinion.

Anyway, i think 2112 is their best album.

I was a big fan back when I was in High School, then sometime in the '80s either the band went downhill, or my tastes changed...

I'm sure there are lots of people who seriously can't stand your favorite band, but they're not all jumping all over each to slam them.

 

arrrrgh, i have a 2112 shirt. anyway ruch is very good, this person i know was talking about how bad they are, and i just didn't agree!

 

My husband is a huge Rush fan, has been since he was about 15. We went to see them last year in Birmingham and although I'm not into them as much as he is they do put on an excellent gig. We've named three of our cats after a line in Totem!
Regardless to say, Peart is his favourite drummer and has been hugely influenced by him.

 

Rush has been a top band of mine for a little over 10 years now. Everything after what was highlighted by Chronicles is not so good, but Test for Echo was a nice try. 2112 and Signals are my two favorite albums, though I'm warming up to A Farewell to Kings, only because I'm a sucker for high fantasy-related material. Exit Stage Left was my first album and hearing Neil's drum solo on YYZ made my jaw drop! I had heard Jazz drummers sound like that, but never a Rock drummer. Anyone know what brand of Synthesizer Geddy Lee uses, especially around the ESL/Signals era? I want one, lol!

Yea, a Rush thread. They are my favorite band... and have been since 1982 when I heard Subdivisions and I have enjoyed every album since.
