Yeah let's go back to blind patriotism.Stick your head in the sand and start firing misslesThere is no misunderstanding about the mindless drones you call soldiers. What they are doing isn't keeping us free,it's binding us in hatred, creating an unsafe enviroment in which we must live in fear of retalitory actions such as 9/11

How the hell is How I feel bullshit or negitive. Thats how I feel. And its here because I want it to be. I don't think anything I said was negative!!!! AND NO IAM NOT GEORGE BUSH!!!! You so called Hippies are fuckin crazy, if this is how you all feel then maybe this isn't the place or the people for me. I thought I would get positive feeback, but all the so-called Americans are not what I thought you would be. To anyone else who reads this, Iam sorry, I hope you feel the way I do. And don't put me down because Iam happy to be free, hell don't put me down at all. I was just tryin to make a point. Not start a fight over my feelings. I don't like George Bush, I voted for him because I felt our country would be runied if Kerry was in office, which it kinda is anyway, but the way I feel about our SOLDIERS is different. Your people just don't get it. And I don't think you never will. OR MAYBE I DON"T GET IT?????

Ok Iam really tired of you being a smartass to me. Just because we don't believe the same thing doesn't mean we need all this negativity. That was simply an example not an excuse for you to be a smartass. So now,... WE DISAGREE!!! GET OVER IT!!!!

rflowerchild - You are a wonderful citizen of this country and the world. I join you in your feelings about our troops and those of the other coalition nations. I strongly encourage you to go to one of the service organizations that are in your area (VFW, American Legion, DAV, AMVETS, VVA, etc) and help them put packages together for sending items of necessity to our troops. That way you can help put your feelings into action. Don't let the do-nothings on the net get you down. It's people like you who will have to make the real differences in the real world and leave the rantings to the ideologues. They are all words and no action. There are more of us out here that feel the same as you do then there are of them. That's what makes them squawk so loud. So, rest assured, you're like the Verizon customer, there are a lot of people supporting you and our troops. Now, go do something for our troops and piss these guys off even more!

I strongly encourage you to enlist. Grab your gun and go kill ragheads. Those of you who feel so strongly about this SHOULD be the ones doing the fighting...

Spy Agencies Say Iraq War Worsens Terrorism Threat

On Wednesday, the Republican-controlled House Intelligence Committee released a more ominous report about the terrorist threat. That assessment, based entirely on unclassified documents, details a growing jihad movement and says, “Al Qaeda leaders wait patiently for the right opportunity to attack.”

    Forum: The Transition in Iraq
The new National Intelligence Estimate was overseen by David B. Low, the national intelligence officer for transnational threats, who commissioned it in 2004 after he took up his post at the National Intelligence Council. Mr. Low declined to be interviewed for this article.

The estimate concludes that the radical Islamic movement has expanded from a core of Qaeda operatives and affiliated groups to include a new class of “self-generating” cells inspired by Al Qaeda’s leadership but without any direct connection to Osama bin Laden or his top lieutenants.

It also examines how the Internet has helped spread jihadist ideology, and how cyberspace has become a haven for terrorist operatives who no longer have geographical refuges in countries like Afghanistan.

In early 2005, the National Intelligence Council released a study concluding that Iraq had become the primary training ground for the next generation of terrorists, and that veterans of the Iraq war might ultimately overtake Al Qaeda’s current leadership in the constellation of the global jihad leadership.

But the new intelligence estimate is the first report since the war began to present a comprehensive picture about the trends in global terrorism.

In recent months, some senior American intelligence officials have offered glimpses into the estimate’s conclusions in public speeches.

“New jihadist networks and cells, sometimes united by little more than their anti-Western agendas, are increasingly likely to emerge,” said Gen. Michael V. Hayden, during a speech in San Antonio in April, the month that the new estimate was completed. “If this trend continues, threats to the U.S. at home and abroad will become more diverse and that could lead to increasing attacks worldwide,” said the general, who was then Mr. Negroponte’s top deputy and is now director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

For more than two years, there has been tension between the Bush administration and American spy agencies over the violence in Iraq and the prospects for a stable democracy in the country. Some intelligence officials have said the White House has consistently presented a more optimistic picture of the situation in Iraq than justified by intelligence reports from the field.

Spy agencies usually produce several national intelligence estimates each year on a variety of subjects. The most controversial of these in recent years was an October 2002 document assessing Iraq’s illicit weapons programs. Several government investigations have discredited that report, and the intelligence community is overhauling how it analyzes data, largely as a result of those investigations.

The broad judgments of the new intelligence estimate are consistent with assessments of global terrorist threats by American allies and independent terrorism experts.

The panel investigating the London terrorist bombings of July 2005 reported in May that the leaders of Britain’s domestic and international intelligence services, MI5 and MI6, “emphasized to the committee the growing scale of the Islamist terrorist threat.”

More recently, the Council on Global Terrorism, an independent research group of respected terrorism experts, assigned a grade of “D+” to United States efforts over the past five years to combat Islamic extremism. The council concluded that “there is every sign that radicalization in the Muslim world is spreading rather than shrinking.”
    Uh yeah thanks

I sincerely hope you didn't think I was being serious! You didn't say who you were thanking, but it seemed to be me. If you WERE thanking me, and you WERE serious, then all I have to say to you is you are a total idiot.

Really all you have done is abandon one thread where things were not going as you would like, and start another one, even more ridiculous than before.

I DO think that people like you should be the ones who enlist. In fact, I take your ramblings as being pretty much bullshit unless you do. You are one of the rabid ones. I was being sarcastic when I made the comment about shooting ragheads, in case you didn't realize that...

The only misunderstanding about US soldiers is whose side they are on. During the early days of the war - more British were killed by the USA than by Iraqis. The soldiers arent making you free they are protecting American interests abroad. No-one has threatened the USA except GW Bush when him and a few others ordered the twin towers to be decked ! When you talk about having a towel on your head I suspect you are merely creating a fascist humourous image. Apart from that you are entitled to thank who you want - but just thank them for protecting the oil - at least be honest for christsake - I can tell you have the intellect of a retarded gnat so I will not hammer the points home too far - just get some rest and go to night classes if you need a better education.

You know who you are - There is nothing that scares the total idealist more than facts. The world of the total idealist exists in the realm of the 'wouldn't it be nice' cliche. Most of us work so that at least part of that ideal world is to be strived for, even obtained, and at the same time keeping a firm eye out for the realities of what this world is equally capable of producing. "Walk softly, but carry a big stick". To do otherwise is an invitation for acts like 9/11. I can't accept what some of you propose be our stance in the world, because history has shown us time and again the results of unbridled pacivity. There is no way you would be saying the things you say if the right to do so was not secured for you by the very means you unqualifiably denounce. Enjoy your freedom, you'll never see how it was obtained. Rest assured, no one will see you contribute to the table of plenty, just feed from it. Speak your mind, others have made that possible and you're right, no one asked them to do it, they just knew you'd claim it as an absolute necessity. That's how humans work. You question the price? Are you kidding? Is your knowledge of history that limited not to have read or experience the numerous killing fields of this world? Oh, yeah. I forgot..not our problem. The one thing about the Hippie experience that some of you missed is that it didn't work as planned. The druggies burned themselves out or died, and the anti-establishment types are as materialistic as hell, many with some sort of corporate, union or government job and don't make any excuse for lovin' it. To claim an anti-war ideology is the braying of the disgruntled, the left-behinds and those not included. The 60s generation has produced the wonderful soldiers you don't know anything about that are fighting the war you don't understand. Then why should anyone listen to you? Warriors have always ensured the success of nations and peoples, and the success of America is one that is shared throughout the worlds people and governments, and I invite anyone to prove otherwise.

This is what they contributed to our table of plenty.Plenty of terrorists. Is you're comprehension of history so distotorted all you can see is fighting? If people would get of their high american horse and work for peace instead of turning a blind eye to the murder of innocent people by our own government and those that stupidly go along with it.

And we wouldn't be in this mess at all if some idiot hadn't decided to kill all the indians and steal their land. We should be looking foreward with high expectations of growth and change in a new and modern world where war is un acceptable, not yammering on what horrors have been done in the past, so that our ill gotten realestate can really be something to be SO-O-O proud of.... There is absolutely no way of knowing what the outcomes would have been if the human race were not so blood thirsty.
We are all warriors, just trying to live in this dog eat dog world. I choose my weapons carefully. My weapons are not designed to blow people and buildings up, amputate arms and legs and heads. They are not designed to terrorize or destroy. My weapons have to do with intellect, truth, and karma.
Braying of the left behinds and those not included???????? Methinks it seems to be the other way around.... I find myself living in a world of barbarians from the dark ages. Time to move on, don't you think?
