Hey guys. Towards the end of this month, I am driving from Memphis to the Outer Banks to spend some time with a friend. I'm planning on splitting the drive up into two days, preferably unequally with the second day's trip being shorter. The total drive is going to be over seventeen hours, and the halfway mark appears to be somewhere around the state line. I'll pretty much be taking I-40 all the way across. And now for the point of this post. Do any of you have any suggestions on a good place to spend the night? Cheap is nice, free is even better, but safe is the most important. Camping is an option, as is sleeping in my car. So if any of you have any ideas for someplace to stay in extreme eastern Tennessee or western North Carolina, I would love to hear them. Thanks.
Hey Neoteny, Sorry I don't have a clue about the western part of the state. I'm from Nags Head on the Outer Banks. Have you ever been here before ? Hope you have an awesome journey. Hippietoad
I have not been there before. I'm just going to spend Spring Break with some friends at one of their parents' beach houses. I think it's in a town called Corolla or something similar. I'm looking forward to it. It's been too long since I've been on the beach (and even longer if you don't count Lake Erie).
That's a little ways north of me. Beautiful area. Know you'll enjoy it. Hopefully you'll have some awesome weather while here so you can enjoy that beach.
