I'm watching the show chuck because a lot of people I know like it, and I like to be able to keep up with the conversations. season three. many of the premises pushed and introduced are propaganda, not in a political way, but in a cultural way. the idea that strength comes from emotion and family and friends. and the idea that emotion, and a lack of emotion can only exist where the other does not, instead of being switchable and chosen states. lots of american shows do this with the same message pretty much all disney movies do. the value of individuality is openly mocked.
The Bipolar effect is the result of years of accumulated data in mass marketing techniques. Simply put, no one would watch tv if it truly reflected everyday life; including these so-called reality tv shows which are heavily edited Hotwater
my concern is not that, but more the long term deleterious effects on viewers. chuck is a good sow, but it is indicative of the whole industry, Every show has some kind of message or agenda that is not always, and, hell, usually not positive for human growth.
I’m more concerned about the fallout if there was suddenly no tv, I’m guessing mass suicide on an unprecedented scale Hotwater
my sister watches tv everyday, there is not one day she doesn't watch TV. She's 18, her emotions are really uncontrollable. When there is slight tension in a disagreement she exaggerates the problem. TV programed my sister at a young age. And i can truly say i can examine her as a test subject to cultural destruction.
that just could be that she's 18. you are drawing an economic correlation to suit your theory twisting facts o fit theories is a huge problem.
It could possibly be her age, but i doubt it.. as a child of 8 years, she was an extensive viewer to what ever was being broadcasted. From years on Im sure her influence came directly from mostly television.
most tv shows are kind of like the dinners that are named after them. If you can't find anything better to eat, are you really that hungry? I don't know, just thinking
