these comments have no place in a geography class. "Kids, this is where Panama is. George Bush hates Panama. If George Bush got his way, he'd invade Panama." goodbye, farewell, and amen.
Georgraphy teachers now a days don't teach only geography. How does anything this teacher says is untrue?
It's about time teachers start telling the truth instead of just grooming kids for the zombie treadmill.
political brainwashing has no place. If we replaced this with a pro-bush guy, would you agree that he should be doing that? edit: p.s. i dont know what you were taught, but we were taught the pro slavery argument and the pro nazi argument. Obviously it wasnt as impassioned as hitler would have delivered it, but it was talked about nonetheless.
edit: the truth? "eerie similarities" between bush and hitler said? I'm curious what he thinks the similarities are. And i think you could say there are 'eerie similarities' between any patriotic speech and a speech hitler gave. for capitalism being at odds with human rights? i guess thats true, but what economic system ISNT? as for the us "probably" being the most violent nation on earth. Nice use of relative so it doesnt have to be true. I'm sorry, but these aren't facts like "Hitler had 12 million people killed in concentration camps." This is pure political bias. as for a grossly pro bush thing not making the news? Find a tape of it, and i'm sure it will. There are a lot of newspapers that would like to hurt bush. Regardless, none of this has a place n geography class.
he broke no law of the united states(or any state). That is what matters. teachers fo children have an obligation not to brainwash kids.
If anyone praises bush,at this point in time ,they would be considered to be so brainwashed (by me)that I would doubt their ability to even tie their fucken shoes! After all,you can only pretend for so long.
Can you prove that you aren't? What is not fact? Nevertheless, he is presenting a viewpoint that is not popular right now to get them to think.
ABC New presented a news segment with a partial transcript of this teachers talk in which the teacher CLEARLY said that he was stating his opinion. I highly doubt that this kid is politically independant. His action of bring a recorder to class show premeditation on his part. When I went to highschool they had words for kids like him, snitch, rat and narc come to mind.
Furthermore, when I"m dead and gone and you kids are getting old, this administration, for what they've done to this country and our standards and ideals, will be written about as the WORST administration in our history. And the worst probably hasn't even played out yet!And the sad part is that the opposition party cares not(Mostly)what these pricks do as long as they keep THEIR jobs sucking at the public trough of our tax dollars and keeping the corporate money rolling in.I mean really----why would politicians spend millions of dollars to get a job that pays a' hundred and some thousand dollars?(he asks rhetorically)The whole system is corrupt and at least there is one teacher who listens to his conscience.Mabe more than one. I certainly hope so.By the way--are there any legislators that cast votes according to"what is the right thing to do?
i'm not the one presenting it as fact. That is his job. He is presenting a rant that has no relevance to what he is teaching. If he wants to rant, let him do it at an appropriate venue, not in a high school geography class. I'll be glad to defend his right to express his viewpoint at an appropriate place.
