ok i got a tatto yesterday on my forearm and today it seems to be flasking and has a few small little bubble things.is this normal for the second day.also my artist didnt cover it up at all.
Yeah. That's totally normal. Eventually the whole thing'll scab. What are you putting on it though? You gotta put somethihng on it to keep from getting to dry and infection. Get some mecca, tattoo goo or some vitamin e cream. Normal moisturizer works too, but not as well. But keep it clean, cause when they get infected.... yuck
my artist loosley taped a paper towel over it just to go home (across lower back) to keep low the rubbing on the way home. it got a little scabby for a few days or a week, but he said not to cover it. things often heal better when exposed to air. i've seen people who have had them covered (b/c they were told by their artist to) and they looked kind of icky. after the second day i only had some mild sweeling and only noticable of one was looking really close and touched it. he had me use a non-perfumed baby lotion on it (i picked one with vitamin e and aloe vera). if you use lotion, please don't use something perfumy. i forgot my baby lotion one day and all i had in my desk was rose scented stuff, they say no scented for a reason. it burn something awful. its still new, don't fret.
Use some Lubriderm lotion a couple times a day. A super thin layer will work well, you don't wanna glob the stuff on. When it starts to itch-DONT SCRATCH OR PICK AT IT! That will just make your tatt look like crap. If it itches, smack it with a ruler (sounds funny, but it works!).
i was told not to use any antibiotic cream. what i used didn't effect my coloring (every body type and chemistry is different) and i have yellow roses with orange/red highlights and greenery. with my pale skin the yellow has maintained its bright color for quite awhile now.
