Has anyone ever had this done? I would like to hear about the process first hand.....I'm thinking of having 1- all of mine removed in the not so far future.

I've never personally had this done, but I've heard the procedure is quite tedious. A girl I know had one removed (or is still in the process of having it removed) and she said it was taking forever. Hers was very small, just a couple of centimeters probably. When I saw her, she said she had already been through 5 sessions of the laser therapy, and I couldn't really tell that she had had that done even. It still looked like she had the tattoo, it was just sort of faded. So I think it's a long process!

a girl i used to know was having hers removed and she had gone through 12 sessions and it wasn't done yet. She said it was brutally expensive, and horribly painful- like slicing off skin with a burning dull blade. If you don't mind my asking, what are they of, and why do you want to get rid of them so badly?

Well, I was considering it. I had heard that it's painful and expensive ~ my tats (3) are two tribal designs and a tiger's face. I had all 3 done before I was even 21 and I simply don't like them very much. (Actually the tiger I kind of like) I don't HATE them...but if I could erase them with a magic wand I certainly would. So removal was something I've been thinking about -although the laser is far from a magic wand!

If you still don't mind having tattoos, visit different artists and see how they could go about changing them....I want to get the sun on my back turned into a flower or something....i was stupid and drunk with excitement when i got it, and i just picked it out of a book...stupid stupid idea.

Yeah, I thought about that as well. I think they might be too big and too "black" to be done over in a nice way. But I'm gonna get a second opinion for sure. A sun on your back? I bet it looks nice! Although I totally know what you mean. The tiger I got when I was high and I picked it out of a book in less than 10 minutes:rolleyes: (it still is kinda nice though)A sun was actually my first tat, but I had it done over about 8 years ago. And now I want my "do over" done over again! The removal is sounding like not the best idea.

Yeah, I have a tattoo that I absolautely hate, but I've learned to live witht he fact that it's just gonna have to be there.
It's a friggin spider under my belly button. I got it when I was 16 and didn't know what the hell i was doing. I hate the thing..But at least I can say i've never seen anyone else with one like that before.

There is a procedure of cutting them off as appose to laser removal.. my friend had his cut off and got to keep them in a sealed jar... his flesh just floating in a jar.. it was kinda gross.... He has scars from it... But no tattoo, done in one session, her opted not to have any pain killers or anistesia (Sp.) and it only cost a few hundred dollars.. He had to have them removed for a job.. they were on his hands
