I have no choice He is an idiot (although well-intentioned) and he has been there for two years.....NO ONE has EVER gotten an A from him. Not because he is a hard professor, but because he regularly gives us false information (about 3 times a day) and says that he is "mistaken" He'll see 2 people in the class in the hall and tell them about homework that is due next class but not anyone else ( I always ask...I have never missed an assignment) He cannot complete his own homework assignments ( I regularly go to him for help on his homework assignments....it usually ends, after 10 minutes, in " I'm not sure....hmmmm, that's interesting") When you add the sheer volume of work he assigns, its not right. I work constantly for him, giving him 110% and I have a C. I have had straight A's for the last 3 semester. Everyone knows about, including the other instructors, but no one tells him (I've tried to politely) or tells the administration I have him for two classes next semester. My question is this: Do you think its worth it to go to his superiors when I know he may hold it against me?
cant you do so anonymously??? at my school, at the end of every course, we evaluate the prof anonymously by filling out scantron sheets while they are out of the classroom. maybe you could suggest somthing like that to them??? i had a prof kinda like that this term. he was dyslexic, so he was always mixing up variables, and words. One of hte first things you learn in that class was that lectures were only for finding out which information you had to learn from the text book
wear a low cut shirt and flirt i know it sounds bad but whatever works also complement him on an item of clothing and touch it when you do just make sure its not his pants heh...
problem is: the textbook stinks we do have an evaluation at the end. last semester, he even told a student that he would change her grade if she gave him a good eval. He gets bad ones every semester. My problem with that is that by then he would have already killed my GPA. If I talk to his superiors then, it will look like I'm pissed at the grade. I'm trying to prevent that bad grade
I had a prof like that when I was in college. Everyone in the class agreed with me that he was a total idiot and wasting our money. So, I got a petition going and got all 40 students in the class to sign it. He was removed mid-semester. He didn't lose his job, but the school had another prof teach the remainder of the class and it was much better. I know its kind of extreme to do something like that, but at the end of the day - you are paying for an education, you are a customer of the university and if you don't like the services they are providing you - speak up about it.
id listen to dhs's advice or you could spend another$100-200 dollars on a better textbook or take lynseys advice and sleep with him
Good advice from DHS. It's never fun to tell someone stinks, but you gotta think of your education & your GPA.
