This is a film about the sun dying, and mankind sending a vessel to reignite it with a nuclear charge the size of Manhattan Island. The pace is slow, and if you're going to see it with someone who's not into sci-fi, chances are that they will fall asleep. The tension, however, soon starts to build up. The atmosphere grips you, and the reactions between the crew are realistic enough. The graphics were great, but this is more of an Arthur C. Clarke type of scenario, rather than Star Wars. The film takes itself a bit too seriously, but is let down by the usual Holywood obsession into turning everything into a roller-coaster ride. I think I recognized the guy who drove the Lincoln in the first (and best) Matrix. He plays the psychiatrist in this. There are definitely good ideas in this, and it should keep you on the edge of your seat. Unfortunately, however, there are a few moments where everything turns to crock. Overall: 3 Scorpions.
Yeah good film, not great, worth checkin out. Special effects looked real good on the big screen, too.
i just saw that film..... verry good..... i was actully looking for a good sci-fi and that was exactely what i needed.
I loved this movie, although the ending kinda took it down a notch. But still fantastic regardless and definitely worth a watch.
I thought it was great. Fantastic atmosphere, really eerie, lots of tension, great visuals. I think it's the eerie tone that makes it better than the average sci-fi.
I remembered really liking this movie myself, but I think the pacing does take it down a notch as far as "re watch ability" goes. I find that it is rare that if I truly enjoy a film, that I don't watch it over and over again. This is one of those rare ones.
