Ive been really into "the disco biscuits" lately. check out their CD's 'uncivilised area' or 'the wind at four to fly' or 'senior boombox'
Thanks Willy_Wonka_27 I definetly will check them out! Any information you could give me about them would be greatly appreciated! -Terrapin60
We have lots of places talking about these bands: here's an ongoing "hey, I just saw these guys" sort of thread: http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172045 the sort of dull "name your fave" http://hipforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=124870 and look at any of the band named threads.
If you like bluegrass, check out yonder mountain string band. A good rock jamband is tea leaf green who imo sounds similar to the dead. Umphreys Mcgee is one of my favorite bands currently touring (kindof a prog-rock jamband). Check out archive.org of your not already familiar with it, you can download tons of live concerts from there.
I duno druiminmama... I was just kinda interested in what good jam bands other people listend to and wonderin' if maybe some people could suggest some for me to check out. -Terrapin60
Thanks hippie-Mchipperson! I definetly will have to check out The Yonder Mountain String Band, Tea Leaf Green, and Umphrey's McGee as well as Archive.org! -Terrapin60
Well, are you new to the genre? If so, look at : Green Lemon, New Monsoon, SCI, Shanti Groove, Dead/Phish, of course, and any side projects. If you like the grassy side, Railroad Earth, Yonder (and projects: Swing Set and Jeff Austin and Friends), Hot Buttered Rum String band, MoonShine Still, Blueground Undergrass, White Water Ramble, Head for the Hills (and the usual suspects: Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, etc) Like the jazzy side? Garaj Mahal (love, love love them.) Steve Kimock (KVHW, Zero, SKB, Kimock & Friends) Jacob Fred Jazz Odessey, Skerik projects, Banyan (Willie Waldeman and Perry Ferrell project)
yea jacob fred jazz odyssey is really great (but quite avant-gard) -is green lemon good? Ive heard a lot about them.
Thanks! to everyone who responded to my post with all of the suggestions for good jam bands to check out! I will definetly have to check out all of the jam bands that have been listed! If anyone has any more suggestions please let me know I would be really interested to hear what people had to say about some good jam bands to check out! Once again Thanks to everyone! -Terrapin60
