Stretching

    Now most people(and if you don't you should) stretch their muscles and such before doing any kind of exercise. Makes sense. But do you stretch every day even if you're not doing anything that might be physically demanding? I do every morning. Makes my body feel more loose and awake for the entire day.

    *edit*
    Also I mean real stretching, not yawning and stretching your arms into the air when you wake up.

    Yes, I have a bad neck and back. I hurt them both like once a year, but if I keep doing my routine that will probably stop.

    I rarely stretch when I'm about to do something physical. I always stretch when I'm relaxing though. lol

    I stretch before sprinting and doing intense sports but not any other time. Certainly not every day. Maybe I should though.

    I stretch every time before i snowboard. I ride 3 to 4 times a week. Not only can i ride longer through out the day, but i feel more refreshed after words. You have a much higher risk of hurting yourself if you don't stretch. Even if you do hurt yourself, if you are a daily stretcher, you will recover your faster.
     
  6. I'm a stretcher. Always have been. Gets the kinks out first thing in the morning!

    I stretch all the time, I'm very flexible. Some people thinks it's strange, but I like feeling the increased blood flow immediately after.

    I have this 1.5hour dvd that does yoga. Man i sweat like crazy, and its very very difficult. If i finish the program i feel great all day long and i sleep better.

    I should stretch way more than I do. I wish I dd everyday. I got long inflexible legs though and I absolutely hate that feeling! Right behind your knees...Jesus. Whenever I do stretch it's always done with a long grunted "fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuccckkkkk."

    It's astonishing to me that people actually enjoy it. My girlfriend stretches all the time and loves it. I don't get it, I wish I was like that.


    Haha I remember back in highschool stretching for basketball practice used to be a bitch. I woulda always picture dhalsim from streetfighter or stretch Armstrong for inspiration. ....it never worked.

    I don't think many people enjoy the act itself, it's the feeling right afterward that is great. It's like running a mile, the running part itself sucks, but the feeling at the end is awesome.

    Well, at least IME, running sucks if you are not used to it, but once you condition your body to it, it is amazing. I love getting that runner's high during the workout, and the feeling like you never want to stop and you could go on for hours.

    I can never get into running, I've tried but I just find it too god awfully boring, too slow also since I'm use to getting most of my exercise on a bike.

    For some reason, I always feel really sore, even when I haven't worked out the day before.
    So I usually do a lot of stretching, especially when I wake up.

    Thats good because it will save your knees later in life. Biking can get you the same if not more results.

    Ya biking is much better, in pretty much every way. Running is only better in that a bike ride can turn from a workout to a pleasant, leisurely stroll. Running is always a workout for me, I push myself more than when I bike.

    I want to experience this! I enjoy running but I've never got to the point where I was just in the zone feeling like I could go nonstop. Sounds awesome.

    I enjoy stretching upper half a ton. My legs though, damn. It would take me years of stretching to get my legs flexible enough to get into the lotus position. And twice the time to get out.

    I stretch every day. If I don't my muscles feel really weird, i can literally feel that they need to be stretched out. yoga is damn close to orgasmic for me


    you would be surprised, the trick is to stretch slowly and never force your body to bend past the point where its comfortable. a couple of months of gentle yoga is all it takes to develop flexibility

    I probably do a yoga pose, stretch, pull on pulley weights, shuffling, dancing around, martial arts bs, every so many hours .. If I didnt I would look like Stephen-Hawkins-chillin- maybe that was a bad example ..
