a chaser is something to help wash it down...... which is usually another drink.....

no, usually another drink, sometimes you chase a shot with a beer, or some water, or soda, or whatever....... you down a shot, then drink something else immediately after

 

especially when a shot is very dry and/or hot (like 150 proof)...... sometimes you need that chaser, unless you are a man.

though, i usually put my chasers in my drinks
are these two facts mutually exclusive, or contradictory?

 

umm you are thinking of something else.......

you are thinking of the chaser that prevents you from getting hangovers..... thats completely different.... that is a pill.....

a chaser is anything you drink after you take a shot of hard liquor. this is usually beer or water.......

 

I think if you mix the chaser in with the shot it ceases to be either and becomes a 'mixer' or just a plain old 'drink'

but everyones lingo tends to differ

as for gin, meh, not really a fan, I need to have it with tonic to tolerate that juniper scent/taste

if you are drinkin a shot of vodka after another, I dont think thats techinically considered a chaser........ thats just takin two shots in a row......
