okay so this thing on the news made me realize....there are like 8 starbucks in my town. and were talkin about a small ass town that doesnt even have a shopping mall. three of those starbucks are in the same strip mall (one inside safeway, one inside target, and one by itself) like is that really nessecary? people can always just go to starbucks afterwards, but no, they are lazy and need a frappucino WHILE theyre shopping. there are too many starbucks.
How about going to target, and with the cost of about 3 fraps, get yourself a milk frother, and make your own frothy cappuccino? Starbucks is a waste of money. And paying for wireless internet? Ahahahahahahaha. It's not a bad place to chill out though. The ones we have arend here are partnered with bookstores, and buying a cup of coffee and breasing through the good parts of a book is a lot cheaper then buying a new book. And sometimes people there are cool. Usually pretty dull types, but ocassionally you can meet cool people hanging out having coffee.
I don't drink that much coffee, but it's not bad. Better then anything out of a tin I've had. But I can't imagine how they created the buzz and image they have. They couldn't possibly have come up with the idea of a large chain of coffee shops with a kind of sleek image could they? If that's all it takes to impress people, I should really be starting a business. Show a commercial of sexy people having fun and enjoying... I dunno a car wash? Making out in a car wash. Then start a chain of car washes. People think if they wash their car, they'll lead intresting sexy lives.
everything in my kitchen all together would equal the price of one of those motherfuckers. fuck frappucinos or whatever it is you get from there i can honestly say ive never had starbucks. i guess im not classy enough
I spend too much time in Starbucks. :& My friends and I hang out in cafes a lot and even though there's lots of indie coffeeshops around as well Starbucks is still number one. Coz the (un)fortunate truth is that their coffee is actually good. Indie coffeeshops' coffee tastes like cat's pee. But that's coz this is England and English people are only good at making tea.
Do americans drink tea? I'm having a similar concept as Starbucks, just with tea instead of coffee. But is there a market? No. Why? Because Starbucks are what people living in an extremely market capitalist society need. People need to junk coffeine, cuz if they don't, they're not able to run their fucking carriers. Coffee is not a drink. It's an institution. It's a capitalist societal function. Coffee is speeding up the whole population. It make us running around like confused hamsters in a treadmill. Why are there no similar tea club concept? Because tea make you relax, and that's not what our capitalist society want us to do. We're expected to get stressed. To live long enough to foster a new generation of coffee-junkies, and to die before we get too old being non-productive. love and understanding, -wolf-
I like their coffee. I've had much better though at small, family owned coffee shops that aren't chains but I actually do like Starbuck's coffee. I don't know why people are always complaining about the price. It isn't a place meant to go to all the time. Haha. More for special occasions or every now and then. The nearest Starbuck's to me is a fifteen minute drive and there arent any more in my county.
Actually around here there are quite a few, small, really cool tea shops. Then again, they aren't chains so maybe that's what you meant.
Starbucks has shit for coffee. I can brew better coffee than them. I do know the guy who owns the plantation which supplies starbucks with all of its coffee... mothafucka is one rich Guatemalan. (He is also Florida's martial arts champion, or something like that)... so Spencer, you should challenge him to a duel!
I can honestly say Ive never gone to a starbucks.... there are too many other coffee houses here..... besides, Im not a huge coffee drinker....
lol.. "love and understanding".. Sorry, we can't all be perfect European tea drinkers. I drink tea, and I drink coffee, but I am a Canadian of Scotch descent (Grandparents born in Scotland)... so maybe I am not quite so Capitalist as most. For the record, we don't have a Starbucks, but we do have a Tim Hortons.
Consumer Reports just rated McDonald's coffee better than Starbucks. CR prefersMcDonald’s, which was cheapest and best, or make your own coffee--just call it something special. The other three were all only OK, but for different reasons. McDonald's, $1.35, was decent and moderately strong. Although it lacked the subtle top notes needed to make it rise and shine, it had no flaws. Burger King, $1.40, looked like coffee but tasted more like hot water. It was a little sour, with an unusual hint of chocolate. Dunkin' Donuts, $1.65, was weak, watery, and pricier than Starbucks. It was inoffensive, but it had no oomph. (If you brew with Dunkin’ beans at home, you can make it stronger.) Starbucks, $1.55, was strong, but burnt and bitter enough to make your eyes water instead of open. Of course, nobody would ever mistake McDonald's for a European Coffeehouse.
yea DD coffee is definately the best! I dont have one on my way to work, though but sometimes my boss brings in those huge cardboard like things full of DD coffee. yummm....
