Standing in the wind, staring at the moon

I went outside in the wind to watch the storm come in. I think the moon is close to full. I hear the wind and feel it blow my hair.

The wind is cool and there seems to an electricity in the air.

I am watching the lightning strike and as I look at the moon my mind goes back.

I think of all the people I new in the days I was a younger man. Faces of people I knew and places I have been flash back and forth in my mind.

I remember the dreams of the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Somehow it seemed so elusive at the time. No matter how far you ran you would never find the end of that rainbow.

Then I go to the inspired years where I finally found everything I really thought I wanted. Sharing love and finding within a inner peace. I thought I found the end of the rainbow. But again the dream was shattered as I fell into my personal hell.

Then I learned of violence and pain. I learned to hate and to fight to survive.

Somehow I made it through my own personal inferno, and decided nothing mattered but me. I dedicated my life to that pot of gold and lost any meaning I had in my life.

Now I am standing in the wind,staring at the moon and I know I am only temporary. I have rooms filled with gold but seem as pointless as finding the end of the rainbow.

I know I have not made a difference in this world. The gold will be here far longer than I will be alive.

Somehow I have to do something, but what I do not know.

So what is the point of all this crap I am writing?
