I've been standing on my head about 10 times a day for as long as I can . .which isn't that long . . but I've found that I have SO MUCH MORE energy now . . it's crazy. I didn't even sleep last night. I was just awake, reading, writing, wired. I heard a voice tell me I need to do this every day, so I do, and wow what an amazing thing . . Just up against the wall, turn up the music bliss
Yeah man, I always love going into class 15 minutes early just to do some crazy inversions and poses to get the blood flowing!
Have you got any tips for adopting this posture? I have been trying to ease myself into it but have found it causes discomfort in the neck area, I can just about get up but only with bent legs. x
It takes time first of all, man. Try starting with tripod. If you don't have a very strong core then this can be quite difficult. Just concentrate and slowly bring your legs up. Also, you can do it next to a wall so you can get that feeling of being upside down. Practice everyday and be patient, all we be groovy! Good luck
Good to have someone, yoga teacher or a friend to make sure that your alignment is right. Apparently if the alignment is off it can cause issues for the neck and spine, but if the alignment is good it can correct issues. In any case, the headstand isn't called the king of the asanas for nothing.
