Hello, I'm new to these forums. I have a question maybe some of you could answer. I get one Stadol nasal spray per month from Dr. for migraines. I also get 60 Vicodins per month. I already add water to the Stadol nasal spray to make it last longer. And for me, (I guess I have a sensitive system, although I DO have an opiate tolerance, as I have had the Vicodin rX for almost 5 years now, and I keep taking more and more, up to 4 a day now and if I take much more, I feel really bad) the Stadol puts me out, even watered down. I am wondering if I can add something to the bottle of nasal spray when the Stadol's gone. Like, can you put in a liquid extraction of hydrocodone and spray it up your nose? I have never snorted anything....but I have had a fair few Demerol injections; now they are doing Dilaudid instead of Demerol. I did get an rX for Dilaudid (hydromorphone) pills, 20 count, 2mg. The 2mg pill, I can hardly even feel it swallowing it, but a 2mg injection I can definitely feel. I totally wasted that rX swallowing them. Any suggestions as to what I should do to make the Stadol last longer, and to make the Vicodin and (possibly if I can get a refill) the Dilaudid go further? Thanks. Sorry for the long post.
parachute it......crush them up, put em in a napkin...and swallow. Its supposed to have a stronger affect, but I've never done it. not much of a downer kind of guy. for putting the vicodin in the nasal spray...just do a cold water extraction, and fill up your nasal spray, that should work. are you looking to increase the effects for recreational use or are you trying to make it work better for pain?
Can you just ask your doctor for a higher strength of Vicodin or a low dosage of Percocet? I know a lot of people are afraid to ask their doctor for pain killers or to increase their dosage for fear that they might be labeled an addict but I find that it's best to just be honest with them. My doctor asks me how many pills I take a day and tells me to just be honest with him. I usually exceed my recommended daily dosage but if you have a pain condition and are on opiates regularly, it's inevitable that you will develop a tolerance and eventually need a higher dosage. Thankfully, my doctor is understanding but I'm sure others are more suspicious. If you feel that your doctor will respond positively, my advice would be to speak with him/her about other options if your current regimen isn't working.
yep, or try looking for a stronger medication. try researching some other drugs that might help. or you can ask about opana (oxymorphone). Its not prescribed a lot, I hear its great for chronic pain.
My doctor asked me if I wanted Opana but I took Dilaudid instead, which was shit. I know everyone says that when taken orally you won't feel anything--and they were right. Anyone know if Opana is the same situation? I've tried a bunch of different scripts and always end up coming back to Oxycodone. Best one in my opinion.
I've always heard opana works very well orally. I've met one person who it stopped working for, but they've been on pain medication for 4 years now, they increased the dose and it seems to be working. But Opana is a stronger medication. Dilaudid never seems to work well with people who have an opioid tolerance.
Fuck that tell your doctor you need a new prescription other than the vicodin, all that aspirin is going to fuck your liver and that's being serious. Why have you had a vicodin scrip for so long?
If you take pain killers containing acetaminophen it's a good idea to get a blood test regularly to check liver and kidney function. I've been on Percocet for years and my levels are fine. But meds affect everyone differently. Avoid taking Vicodin or Percocet with high levels of acetaminophen--get the ones with 325mg--or just ask for plain Oxycodone without the acetaminophen.
Thanks for all the input, all of you. To answer a couple questions, I guess I've had the Vicodin for so long just because I also have endometriosis, which is what it was prescribed for initially. I actually had surgeries proving I had the endo- I think you might have to have the surgery for proof, although the Doc should take your word for it if you have severe abdominal pain. At first the Vicodin worked great, for making me feel like I want to feel (recreationally, except that's every day!) only taking 1 pill! For a long time- 1 Vicodin made me happy as a lark! If I took 2, not so happy. But as I said, that's been like 5 years ago. So the dilaudid doesn't work so good for opioid tolerant people? That's why then. I might ask my doc for Oxycodone instead of Vicodin. He is getting tired of dealing with me though- For a long time he was dealing with my migraine situation almost every week. I think he probably thinks I'm just there for the injection now, which is half the truth. Think I should get a new doc? He actually has already passed off my problem to the neurologist, who is giving me the Stadol and had given me the dilaudid. So I guess my interest is both: Recreational use and for pain relief. And I think that can be two different meds- actually it SHOULD be, to prevent tolerance. I am getting the Stadol today. Always the first dose makes me SOOO irritable! I am just MAD at the world. I know a guy who said Vicodin makes him mad. Isn't it funny how it affects people differently? After the first dose I should be okay though.
BTW- I will try the cold water extraction method for the Vicodin to put in the nasal spray when it's gone. So am I to understand that it packs more of a punch when snorted than swallowing the pill? I've never done it, so I wouldn't know.
most pain killers contain acetaminophen...its really hard to avoid. Its uselly either suffer with pain, or take the medication.
Sure all the high end painkillers like Oxycontin,MS Contin,Morphine,Dilaudid and other water soluble pain killers don't have acetaminophen in them but all lower form painkillers do.Let me tell you know a addict or someone that is in pain who is taking it to kill there pain say Vicoden. There first concern about any lower forn painkiller with acetaminohen should not be addiction,Over dose, getting sick etc it should be how bad they are fucking up there liver ! Acetaminophen till tear up your liver fast as all hell. If someone is eating alot of vicoden or percoset every day they will probably need a new liver 20 to 25 years down the road. I mean it does terrrable damage to your liver, Thats why all addicts who use pain killers with acetaminophen in it should do the cold water extraction. You will be so happy 30 years later down the road ou did when your liver is still healthy and not shoot.
Opana is the same. You won't feel a thing. I took 40mg of Opana at once and felt NOTHING. I've tried Dilaudid, Opana, MS Contin, and Hydrocodone, and I always come back to Oxycodone. Oxycodone is by far the most effective narcotic when used orally. Although I liked the MS Contin as well, I just developed a tolerance REALLY fast. -V
