So, in the height of Spring Break '07 at Fort Lauderdale Beach, I've come to a realization: A lot of the kids I see down here have been here for a week, maybe a week and a half. I know this, because I've entertained not just one or two, but handfuls of them every night of the week. Absolute minimum for hotels on A1A this time of year: $250 / night (most are in the $300 - $450 range) Then figure in food, alcohol from the bars, shopping, etc.... Not to mention, some of these idiots are blowing $50 - $100 just to hear their school's fight song played badly by myself or my fellow pianists. Conclusion: White kids on spring break have a SHITLOAD of money that they have no idea what to do with.... I wish I had that type of cash to spend soley on my own amusement..... Now, when I was in school at BU, I did know a COUPLE of kids who received $10,000 allowances from mommy and daddy's wallet, but the sheer volume of kids down here like that is mind blowing.... Sigh, as long as their money ends up on my piano
When I was enrolled at school, I didn't see too much of this. In fact, I only knew a handful of kids who actually went on Spring break anywhere, but I went to a private school and not a huge University. Makes me wonder, where do these kids and their parents come from?!?!?!
This year my little sister's spring break from college, where she is currently a sophmore, will be spent helping assist in the rebuilding of homes still in need due to Katrina. You go girl!
A lot of kids from my school did this last year, and I believe a bunch went back this year too. Defintely more kids went down to New Orleans then to say Cancun. Puts life more into perspective then getting wasted having sex with a ton of strangers because oops I got too drunk.
I think that's a fantastic way to spend your spring break. I mean, it's got to feel good to do something like that. Hard work, yes, but in the end, think of how much you helped others, the satisfaction that comes with it! I'd take that over partying and being insanely hungover the next day without a single thought!
It's a product of the materialistic, dumbed-down society we live in, where it's all about ME ME ME. It's all about getting your rocks off, spending a bunch of money on useless garbage, and never having to think. That pretty much sums up my generation's mindset, as well as that of our parents. It's all about doing whatever feels good and who cares that the world is going to hell in a handbasket.
One of my co-workers is going to go out there to fort l.... to quote him "Quiero young american pussyyyy! Ay mamacita!" He's hairy. Anyhow... what people should do in spring break is walk around with a giant block of hash, and wisper "hasish, hashish" while wearing a black overcoat, jesus sandals, and walking huntched with an evil grin on your face among crowds on the beach. Then you sell the hashish to the young innocent kids for outrageous prices, and you keep on lurking and smiling, and make a killing in the end.
man its a dave mathews show,.. i have some resin mixed with saw duxt.. but it looks an smells great,, for only???? 20 bucks a gram..
I'd buy it if I was a pseudo intellectual hip type who has never smoked hash before but claims to be an expert!
Ah yes... the pussy of Spring break. To my knowledge, you'd have a more fascinating time heating up an eggplant in the microwave and then defiling it. Sigh, too bad most of the guys don't swing my way....yet... fucking closet jocks.....
How about this dozey off of a facebook page... "I worked at the Crom in Freeport for like a year, but had enough of that and started at Macaroni Grill. After a couple months I decided that working isn't really for me. Luckily I have amazing parents that support me no matter what" working..not for you? are you kidding? welcome to the world. gosh forbid someone has to work..oh dear me...
