I havent remembered many dreams for a long time. I broke up with a long-term girlfriend not too long ago and have had more chances to focus more on my spiritual life and energy work lately. I dreamt that there was an event going on at the top of some of a residence hall that was attracting a lot of people. It was like a giant round tower (modern looking), maybe 20 stories high. This tower was inside another giant chamber. My job was to be the receptionist at the bottom floor. But since something was going on at the top, I decided to go up. There were a lot of people around and it was a grassy and vegitation-filled area. Supposedly there was a monstrous spider that burrowed/lived underground, and that was why everyone was interested. They wanted to see the spider, and I think someone was going to draw it out. I saw it for a moment, it was a metaphysical kind of spider. For some reason during this activity we had to form a circle around it. I dont really relate to spiders much. It's strange, but didnt disturb me all that much. It was more fascination.
I'm not really sure about the whole dream but often times in magick, spiders represent creativity and something new happening.
this is probably unrelated to your dream itself as i'm guessing you've never read it or even heard of it, but there was a story something like that written, i think, by mack reynolds. it's in one of my old analog magazenes, one that was published sometime back in the 70s or 80s, certainly no more recent then that, i've got kicking arround somewhere. =^^= .../\...
This is my opinion. Relating to the information you provided outside the dream: The people represent new experiences outside of your relationship. You feel like you're at the bottom and need to get to a higher place which nature involves, enlightment. I think the spider represents something in your life that's new, and foreign to you. The metaphysical state of the spider and forming around it in a in a circle, I think represents an energy you are seeking out. Also, spiders are an object of deciet. It may apply in the sense that you are interested in something out of your reach, and that spider at the top is a commotion used to get you there.

yeah except the mind can really hook into the computer and go live on an internet connection in a dream. yeah a furry tail is cute too, on a monkey.
When I was younger and would have mystical experiences now and then, I'd often feel squeezing/flexations on the top of my head during these moments. That is kind of what I associate the dream with... some of that higher consciousness energy being stirred up a bit.
monkeys, cats, foxes, little furry green things from alpha centauri, ... i'd probably have to wear a flea collar and couldn't stand that either. my skin seems to be alergic to my own hair as it is. but maybe if it was all silkey like that, it wouldn't be. =^^= .../\...
