Damage caused by one Hamas rocket Damage caused by one Israeli bomb I couldn't find the image of the Israelis drinking wine and dancing as they watched Gaza burn but it certainly exists. My opinion is in my signature, protest Israel at every opportunity you get, put pressure on your governments, on shops, on the arms trade. Support in any way you can and don't stop until this senseless killing ends. There's some pretty banal causes to protest about in this forum and this really genuinely matters- chemical weapons are being used on civilian populations, this is genocide. Get off your arses and do something -anything- to put pressure on Israel to stop this senseless killing. Boycott/protest all Israeli business or western capitalists with interest in Israel. Boycott food and all other exports from Israel. Protest embassies, businesses, occupy offices, do anything you can. Make it known you do not support racism and murder and encourage others to do the same. Put pressure on places selling israeli goods. Of course it would be highly illegal to damage these businesses with graffiti, superglue or bricks with messages on them so never do that though, ahem. I haven't felt this strongly about a cause for a while but in the west our media does not tell or show us half of the horrific, shocking things that are going on in Gaza, right now, with the support of our governments. Thank you for reading this.
Please grow up. Your comments are really not welcome if you're attempting to be funny. This is an extremely serious subject and I posted it completely sincerely because I'm so upset by this at the moment, so I'd appreciate you respecting my feelings on the matter. If you can't feel any compassion for fellow human beings then I pity you.
I would respect you not condemning a whole country because of lunatic policies over a fucking dirt shit place. BUT, WHATEV
Well, if we're talking about condemning whole countries here I'd say the people of the state of Palestine have been condemned by the state of Israel to a terrible fate and had their land occupied illegally and have been systematically tortured, punished, raped and murdered, forced into ghettos, made to work for a pittance, treated as second class citizens and made to live in conditions not dissimilar to the ghettos in Nazi occupied europe.. This latest bout is unacceptable and anyone who thinks it is at all justifiable is ill in the head. How many conscientious objectors are there? How many people are rioting on the streets of Tel Aviv calling for an end to this? It's not just an unpopular government decision, it is a widely supported action. I know people in israel, close friends of mine are israeli jews (by birth) and they are with me on the 'fuck israel' thing. Just as I say 'fuck the uk' (my country and 'fuck the us' as I feel everything these countries stand for is disgusting and criminal. Doesn't mean I hate every individual living there. They steal all this but they still want more.
But it's not at all equal here though. You just have to look at the pictures I posted of the Hamas rockets compared to the weapons Israel have been using. 13 Israeli dead in this conflict (three civilians, and at least 4 of the soldiers were killed by 'friendly fire'), more than 1200 Palestinians. I would hardly say that's equally unjust. Yes Hamas militants have targeted Israeli civilian populations before but with chemical weapons?? Or have Hamas ever dropped leaflets from planes telling people to leave their homes by a certain time or die then dropping bombs on the UN school they were sheltering in? Israel first said rockets were coming from there but then later admitted there weren't any when put under scrutiny. How many hundreds of Israeli children have been killed in the last week? I will say it again because it doesn't seem to have sunk in: They are using chemical weapons on civilian populations and trying to claim some moral high ground. You can call it a lot of things but the atrocities being committed are certainly not 'equally as unjust'. If we do not do anything we are all to blame.
It is wrong. No matter who is doing what. War is wrong. Innocent lives will always be lost. It's sad and it sickens me. But do you really think a boycott is going to change their minds about killing people they have thought to be their enemies for hundreds of years. It would take whole lot more than that. You have to change minds to stop a war like this. You have to convince these people that their enemies are their equals. That there is a way for them to coexist. It is a huge thing, it will not be stopped by loss of income. They are willing to give their lives and the lives of their children for their cause, do you think that they value western commerse above that. They will not miss it. As long as they have their anger, fear and revenge, they could go on for thousands of years more.
It's kind of hard to boycott a country, but I believe that talking about issues is the best anyone can do. Israel is a bully, and we NEED to stop funding their unnecessary fights.
