Yeah, it's either that or a reaction to the jewelry. Even after wearing them for months, you can still have a weird reaction, especially if they're of a cheaper metal. The outer coating can wear down and you can have a reaction to the material underneath it that your skin wasn't previously exposed to. I had that happen a few times in high school, I wore necklaces like crazy and my neck would look all bruised sometimes after wearing them for a few months.

 

You may have slept on your necklace wrong, and it gave you a bruise.
